Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads from Cheeky Wipes - for light flow

Size:        22cm x 7cm suitable for light days of your period or mild incontinence

Bamboo / Minky:  Leakproof Minkee outer, one layer microfibre, inner layer bamboo charcoal microfleece or bamboo terry

Not sure which pad to choose? See our blog post for more details....

Care Instructions:  Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.  Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!

Why not add some of our reusable intimate wipes to your order and / or a wetbag for carrying clean and dirty pads / wipes? You can also buy the pads in packs of 5 or 10 , alternatively take a look at our Cheeky Mama Sanitary Pad kits and SAVE money!

Too big
Sunday, 14 May 2017  |

I ordered a pack of liners but they look like sanitary towels. They are very big, and despite being very soft, it's not that comfy if you're not used to sanitary towels. I'll keep them as sanitary towels but I had to order another pack to try something smaller to wear on a daily basis.
ADVICE: don't wash your items before being sure to keep them. I made the mistake of washing them first for hygiene reasons but I can't send them back now, which is why I keep them...
Delivery was fast and products are very pretty. Service is great and I do recommend the website.

Hi Marine, if you're not used to pads I can understand why you might initially find these quite different as they are bulkier than you are probably used to, however they are very absorbent.
Our cotton and organic cotton 'Ultra' liners are much thinner and probably more suited to you.

Super absorbent

Absorbent and comfy. I switched from regular disposable pads about 6 months ago to reusables and a mooncup. Some days I don't have chance to use the mooncup due to meetings etc so the pads are my go to thing. They are comfy and don't irritate me like disposables. Easily washed too!

Exactly what I was looking for

I love the soft bamboo fabric of these liners. They stay feeling fresh because there is no plastic feeling layer. Exactly what I wanted.

Thank you for sending my order quickly and efficiently. I found the product to be very comfortable and soft, and it launders easily and dries quickly. I would certainly recommend them for continence problems.

Amazing

Had been using the bamboo liners previously, which work great, and thought I would try the charcoal version. Both are awesome and so comfortable. There is some movement of the pads but I've found that tight knickers help with this.

Issues with poppers and staining
Saturday, 18 February 2017  |

Bit of a problem with the position of the poppers for those of us who cycle a lot. Can be a bit uncomfortable! Wearing the liners without the poppers done up doesn't help either - just transfers the problem to the inside of my thighs.

And I really don't think I'll get the stains out without some heavy duty stain remover, which I don't want to use because it's not very green. Even soaking in cold water overnight and then rubbing in laundry detergent and leaving again for 12 hours isn't working. Think I might have to stick with the charcoal ones.

Hi Clare,
The good news is that we're looking into an alternative for cyclists and I'll drop you a line about being a tester for those.
As regards staining, I find that soaking overnight in Astonish Oxy Plus which is an oxygen based cleaner will lift stains, but to be fair, these are soiled pads and they need to be treated as any soiled clothing would. But of course if you choose not to use a stain remover then you will still get staining unfortunately, it depends how much that bothers you as no-one will see the stains?

Soft, absorbent, great colours, easy wash
Monday, 19 December 2016  |

Love these as a great 'between' pad. Bit more than a standard shop bought panty liner in terms of bulk and absorbency... Perfect for spotting, heavy discharge or light stress incontinence. Only down side is you do need to wear pants with quite a wide gusset to stop the liner twisting or slipping.

Comfy

These are slightly longer than the panty liners I got a couple of years ago, which is great. The old ones are also the charcoal fleece ones. The bamboo terry is more absorbent and more comfortable (ie not sweaty!) Volunteering in school yesterday for longer than expected, these liners dealt with a mooncup leak perfectly, which I don't think the slightly smaller fleece ones would have managed.

I thought the normal wipes were soft but these are something else! Using on newborn skin without the oils and a million times easier than cotton wool.

Perfect fabric for little hands and faces
Thursday, 4 May 2017  |  Debbie

This is a handy little kit for weaning, especially if you're following baby-led approaches or if little one is a fan of finger foods. Microfibres are the perfect all round cloth for this, pick up the dirt - no matter how sticky - yet they're soft and gentle on baby's skin. The number of wipes I'm saving from landfil is just an added bonus!

Excellent product for post-natal mums

I found these to be a saviour in the weeks after having a baby. They were so much more comfortable than disposable pads and helped give me some much needed comfort. Would definitely recommend to other mums

I wish I had found out sooner !

I'm a forty something woman now , imagine the money and bit of the planet I could have saved if I had discovered cloth sanitary pads as a teenager ?! ( ok cheekywipes weren't invented then ).not to mention the Thrush angle - I've not had thrush ( a regular monthly visitor ) since I switched to cloth towels - makes sense when you think about it your pants don't give you thrush do they ? I've gone for the charcoal ones this time just because my old ones , I've had them for years now , are looking a bit grey - well I would have chucked my old greying pants by now ! They are still perfectly functional but this time if they start off grey then I won't have to think about it .
Snug fitting pants are the answer and as my thong days are gone it's not an issue - just think you will never have that horrible sticky pad sticking in the wrong place or yanking a hair out feeling again !.( ok just me is it ?)

Absolutely love cheeky wipes, can't believe I waited so long to take the plunge into reuseable wipes. Would highly recommend. Have since purchased extra boxes to use with my newborn and 1year old so we can have a set upstairs and down!

Perimenopausal Flood Barrier!

This has been amazing for me. I use it at night and the absorbency is amazing. Very very limited clean ups needed in terms of bedding etc on waking now. I'm surprised at how much less these smell than the chemical disposable pads, everything smells fresher. And this is amazingly comfortable, feels just like wearing underwear - no bulk or discomfort.

Cheeky wipes

Debated buying cheeky wipes for a while after chatting to friends who use them.

We love them!

We're much happier using wipes on hand, face and bums that we know have nothing nasty in them and we also love the smells!

I was a bit dubious, but felt bad about the amount of nappies and wipes in our bin.
I wish I had bought them sooner, although initially I felt the kit was expensive, it really does contain everything you need- even a travel pouch for when out and about. Really recommend.

Dubious customer turned convert!
Wednesday, 5 April 2017  |  Susan

I debated cloth sanitary towels for a long while before buying a starter set. I have particularly heavy periods and always use two night towels at a time, on my worst days I can still go through these in 2-3 hours. I really didn't expect these to be good enough to cope but having used cloth nappies and wipes with 4 children I wasn't too bothered about the cleaning side of trying them and hoped there had to be a better way than I was using currently. They arrived, conveniently on day 1 of my cycle and I decided there was no time like the present and they coped wonderfully but it was day 1 so I wondered if it was just luck, it wasn't. With one towel at a time I went longer between changes and was more comfortable. On day 3 I needed to go at short notice to stay with family and decided this wasnt the time to carry on the experiment and went back to the disposables. If I hadn't been sure before that these are right for me I was after that, they still leaked and still needed doubling up and were less comfortable than ever. As for cleaning the cloth towels I went with rinsing where I could but when out and about it wasn't an option, rinsing was a lot less gruesome than I'd expected and even the ones I didn't rinse came up perfectly white with a 30 degree wash using bold liquitabs and a small scoop of vanish. I'm going to try without the vanish next time but they currently look unused!

Brilliant product. Much nicer on our little girl's bottom than wipes and wash really well. We'll be buying more...
