How time flies… Believe it or not, my little Aerin is now a whole year old – where did that time go to?
Obviously being the youngest of 4 children there isn’t a lot she needs in the way of toys for her birthday but I decided to treat her to a new sleeping bag as she’s almost grown out of her 6 – 12 month one.

I took a look around at the Baby Show and came across this lovely sleeping bag from the lovely Keira at Mamascarf. The BRILLIANT and unique thing about the Babasac is that it is dual season (like the dual season duvets that you can buy), starting at 2.5 tog but with an inner area which zips out to make it into a summer sleeping bag, with a 1.0 tog rating.
Prior to this I thought that all sleeping bags were pretty much of a muchness but a lot of care has gone into the design of this one. For example, the zip starts at the bottom of the sleeping bag, so if you have to do an overnight nappy change for any reason, you don’t have to completely take them out of their sleeping bag.
There are also additional internal poppers on the inside which you can use to make the sleeping bag tighter around the arms. This was perfect for me because Aerin is on the 75th centile for height and weight, so I had gone for the 18-36 month one. Using the extra poppers means that it’s still a nice snug fit.
Lastly, the Babasac comes in a choice of two different fabrics. I went for the pink hearts one as it fits in with the style of her room, but was seriously tempted by the navy stars….
The Babasacs are priced from £37.99 and available from Mamascarf.

One’s and Two’s Nappy Review
I’m delighted to say that we’ll be adding a new nappy range to sit alongside our lovely Itti Bittis. One’s and Two’s are the new budget friendly nappy option from the makers of Itti Bitti and we LOVE them!
One’s and Two’s are a birth to potty nappy, so they’re economical to use. They’re also really, really simple and actually that’s probably the thing that I like about them most. Ever since the days when I used Mother-ease on my boys and was trying to explain cloth nappies to friends:

- You need something to soak up the wee
- you need a stay-dry layer to stop the wee lying against their skin
- you need a waterproof layer to step their clothes getting wet
EVERY nappy system has these elements in some shape of form, but some nappies make it seem a lot more complicated than that!
How they work
One’s and Two’s are a simple ‘pocket’ nappy (that means that the absorbent bit is held in a ‘pocket’ inside the nappy). The nappies come with a microfibre insert as standard, which has a microfibre topping (the stay-dry layer). However it’s really easy to add extra boosters to increase the absorbency if your baby needs it and you can buy extra One’s and Two’s bamboo soakers for overnight use – or for additional absorbency during the day. The wrap is obviously the waterproof layer, but if your baby has just done a wee, you can just be able to change the soaker pads and re-use the wrap, again making them very economical.
The sizing is adjusted using poppers, but the nappies close with velcro, making them really easy to use.
Test Performance
Here at Cheeky Wipes HQ we took delivery of our samples last week. My first test was putting Aerin down for a nap in her new nappy. I used the microfibre soaker that came with the nappy and added an Itti Bitti Bamboo Booster for extra absorbency as I knew that she was having a bottle before her nap and was likely to need a BIG wee. The nappy lasted for 4 hours, no problem, I was very impressed, as was baby Aerin.
Later we dealt with a poo in the same easy way. I actually found these easier to deal with on this nappy as you don’t have to try to undo poppers before shaking the poo into the toilet. Dead easy again.
I don’t soak my nappies, just wash at 50c (sometimes using Milton anti-bacterial fabric wash) and they cleaned up beautifully.
There’s no doubt that Itti Bitti definitely have the cute factor with the fluffy minkee bums, but One’s and Two’s are also available in a range of colours and white.
Price
One’s and two’s are very economically priced at £12.95 for the coloured nappies, including a micro-fibre insert. The white nappies are even better value at £58 for 5! And to celebrate real nappy week we’ll be offering 25% off EVERYTHING on www.cheekywipes.com from 16th – 22nd April!
Summary
If you’re pregnant and even thinking about cloth nappies, you should try one’s and two’s. They’re super simple to use, economical and look good too. Plus of course there’s the environmental benefits….

I can’t quite believe it has taken me this long to get this sorted but I’m delighted to advise that we now have the very fabulous Itti Bitti Tutto Nappies in stock on the website.
I do LOVE my Itti Bitti (as you’ll know if you’ve been reading my blog over recent years) and since I started using the Itti Bitti Tutto on baby Aerin, I have been meaning to get them on to the website so that I can share the Itti Bitti love with you.

So why do I recommend Itti Bitti?
Well, I’m not the type of person who can sell something that I wouldn’t use myself. I started using Itti Bitti D’lish when Jennie was born 3 1/2 years ago and I was looking for a slim fitting nappy. Prior to that I’d been using Motherease Sandy nappies and Rikki wraps – a fabulous ‘workhorse’ birth to potty nappy system but very bulky.
I found the Itti Bitti D’lish and loved them, my only gripe was the fact that they were sized. Great if you’re using them on your baby, but not so good if you’re stocking them – after all 11 colours and 3 sizes means that you have to have 33 different nappies in stock at all times, which was just a bit of a warehouse nightmare. The Tutto were the answer to my prayers but I didn’t feel that I could recommend and sell them on the website unless I was using them myself (on baby Aerin obviously!).
I’ve now had a good 6 month trial using the Tutto’s part-time (as they provide eco-disposables at nursery and with washing for 4 kids, I take all the breaks I can washing-wise….). They’re great, easy to use and very cute on bubs. And I’ve found that the poo barrier actually does work much better than on disposable nappies, I only have ‘poo up to shoulder blades’ situations in Aerin is in a ’sposie!
Itti Bitti Special Offers
The Itti Bitti Tutto are priced at £17.25 each but we have a couple of deals available. Firstly, you can buy 5 Itti Bitti Tutto and get 1 free – just add all six nappies to your basket and then enter the code ‘AFAF3587 ‘ to receive the discount.
Alternatively we have a great ‘Itti Bitti Tutto Birth to Potty’ nappy deal which saves you £52.45 and offers everything you need to use Itti Bitti Tutto nappies from Birth to Potty:
15 Itti Bitti Tutto Nappies
5 Itti Bitti Tutto booster sets
FREE Large My Little Patch wet bag to hold 4 – 5 nappies worth £16.50
FREE Cheeky Wipes Mini Kit worth £26.95
FREE Nappy Bucket worth £9.50
It’s a great offer, so if you’re interested, or have any questions about using cloth nappies, please just shout.

February 29th, 2012
Sorry, this is a bit of a ranty post. I get really frustrated when I go to the Baby Show and show people how fabulous Cheeky Wipes are, only to hear them bemoaning the cost.
These are the very same people that two minutes later walk by with an embroidered sleepsuit costing £15 which the baby will use for about 6 weeks before they grow out of it…. Or a nappy wrapper which costs £15 and you then have to buy refills for. Or who spend £65 on a changing bag. (And apologies if it’s just me who doesn’t get nappy wrappers, what’s wrong with sticking dirty nappies straight into the bin, why do you need MORE rubbish to go to landfill??)
Now I know that the sleepsuits / bibs are very cute. There’s no denying it. And you’ll definitely need a bag for baby related paraphernalia, but it doesn’t have to be a changing bag as such, I haven’t used a changing bag since baby no2….. If you’re on a tight budget there are much better things you could be spending your money on.
If you’re shopping for a new baby, they will need somewhere and something to sleep on, some method of transport and some sort of nappy and something to clean their bum with. You might also need a few bottles & steriliser depending on whether you choose to breastfeed or not, but that’s really it.
You might be splashing out on buying Cheeky Wipes upfront but you’ll quickly see them pay for themselves many times over, which has got to be a better long term investment, yes?

Just a quick one from me.
We’re revamping the ‘recommend a friend’ scheme. Currently if you tell a friend about Cheeky Wipes and they order the full kit, they will save £5 by quoting the code we give you, and as long as they provide your email address (at the time of order – this can’t be back-dated!) we’ll send you £5 also – but off anything on the site.
We’re thinking of improving the scheme to give new customers who have been recommended will save 20% off anything over £38, which means that customers who order mini kits can also benefit. Do you think this is better / worse? Any other suggestions?
We were going to keep your reward at £5 off anything on the site – but is there anything that you would prefer? We have toyed with the idea of 20% off any further purchase, but actually £5 off anything is probably better for most people as it would buy them a bottle of oil?
We’re open to suggestions, so please leave a comment either here or on our facebook page….

I know that i should really wait until next week to post this, as I’ll have my photographers professional pics to share then but I can’t wait!
I’m delighted to announce that our version 3 kits are now available to pre-order online for £35 including postage. (Will be £39.99, plus postage after 10th Feb). Flat lids for easy stacking
Our new boxes (v3) combine the best bits of version 1 and version 2 boxes:
- flat lids for stacking
- air-tight seal
- one handed opening (but with a single robust clip rather than a pop-top)
- internal hooks on mucky box
- double hinge with stainless steel pin for strength
- water-fill levels

We’ve been testing the samples here at Cheeky Wipes HQ for a couple of weeks and we love them!
The containers can also be pre-ordered – if you’re an existing customer, keep an eye on your in-box next week as you can pre-order the new containers at a hefty discount until the end of December.
Both new boxes have double hinges with stainless steel pins for strength
The pictures show the kits actually in the factory, the container will ship to us shortly so we’re confident that we’ll have all pre-orders dispatched by 10th February.
Will update next week again when I have ‘proper’ photo’s to share….
