Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads from Cheeky Wipes - for heavy flow

Bamboo / Minky:  Leakproof Minkee outer, two layers microfibre, inner layer bamboo charcoal microfleece or bamboo terry

Not sure which pad to choose? See our blog post for more details....

Care Instructions:  Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.  Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!  If you're new to all this (or just new to Cheeky Mama's) then read our top tips on how to use Cheeky Mama Cloth Pads, plus how to care for your Cheeky Mama Cloth Pads - it couldn't be easier!

Why not add some of our reusable intimate wipes to your order and / or a wetbag for carrying clean and dirty pads / wipes? You can also buy the pads in packs of 5 or 10 , alternatively take a look at our Cheeky Mama Sanitary Pad kits and SAVE money!

Never looked back!!
Friday, 31 August 2018  |

I bought these around 18 months ago and they still look like new. I originally ran on night pads and liners which was fine. These cope with 'flooding' amazingly well, I have never had a leak. They haven't stained and they are not gross at all. I was sceptical to read that period pain can be reduced by switching from disposables but its true. My flow is a little lighter and doesn't last as long. I just chuck them in with the washing or with the nappies. I now have a few day pads for the last day, purely because they looked pretty and I'm slightly addicted. They are so soft and don't move around in my underwear even thought they're a shiney material. I use the liners every day just chucking them in the normal wash and they are still like new. Granted they're slightly more grey than white on top but I can deal with that. These are by far some of the cheapest CSP out there. I have tried slightly cheaper but these are made so much better. The quality is untouchable.

Comfort and quality

These pads are the most comfy I've ever tried. That little bit longer gives extra protection from leaks. They wash well and the quality of the material and construction is excellent.

Nearly 5*

I only realised recently that there were cloth sanitary products on the market. I purchased some for mild incontinence following surgery & treatment for cancer. I find them absorbant and relatively comfortable. However as an "older lady" I wear "big girl pants" and the width of the pads could be larger to do up without gathering my pants. I also bought some day pads and again they could be wider to do up but they are more comfortable. Saying that, I'm glad I purchased them, they wash well and will save money in the long run and are so much better for the environment.

Night pads

The pads are very soft, comfortable and wash and dry quickly but I do find they slide backwards in my pants. Perhaps they are not suitable for daywear? which is what I wanted them for.

Hi Dee, tighter fitting pants can help, or turn the pad round in your knickers 180 degrees so that the nap faces the other way?

Great fit for sleeping and so comfortable
Tuesday, 28 February 2017  |

Had the 'opportunity' to try these out over the weekend. I'd been using the standard size pads to sleep previous to purchasing these, which had their issues. The larger size accounts for movement during the night, and I had no issues with any leakage from the front, back or sides. Came out of the wash just as 'fluffy' as they went in, although I believe that will fade over time, as my bamboo pads have (but they still work great!)

So long!
Friday, 9 December 2016  |

These haven't been tested to 'full capacity' yet, but they are so long I can't see I'll ever leak over the ends! Brilliant! They are quite bulky, but as a night time pad that's not a problem.

Love them!
Thursday, 22 September 2016  |

Only recently started using reusable pads and I'm so impressed with them I will not go back to disposables. They are a lot more comfortable than a disposable and absorbant and to top it off the customer service experience I have received has been amazing!

Great product!
Monday, 10 September 2018  |  Claire

We have been pleasantly surprised by how easy the switch has been and like that you can still use them out and about with the travel bags. You do need to be pretty disciplined and organised with keeping supplies fresh and would definitely suggest a second pack of wipes so you have plenty for wash rotation. We wash them on a 60 degree wash so they are totally clean and have no issue then using bum wipes for hands and face. Although there is the option to have white ones for hands and face and colours for the bum, comes down to personal preference, but they genuinely clean and fresh. We really started looking at this option because my youngest has really sore nappy rash from every wipe brand we've tried leading to us spending a small fortune on sudocream and other such products. Since using cloth wipes its been a miracle for his bum as its no longer red and sore. I love how usually 1 wipe does the job whereas you need to use some 5-6 packet wipes and we were going through them pack after pack with 2 boys! So bottom line buy them we wouldn't go back now having changed across.

I 🖤 period pants
Friday, 31 August 2018  |  Bess

Where have period pants been my whole life? How have I ever survived without them? Oh yes, know, by worrying about leakage, the worldís environment and my internal environment. Not any more thanks to these beauties. There was no leakage, theyíre kind to the environment and kind to me too. Just one thing Iíd like, and thatís a few different colours please, including nude. Thanks 😊.

Feeling at peace with reusable wipes!
Thursday, 30 August 2018  |  Alice

I have been feeling guilty. I'm on my second child and adding to landfill like there's no tomorrow. My husband would use baby wipes to clean the child... car... floor... but I just did not like the idea of poo covered wipes being reusable. However, after finding cheeky wipes via instagram, reading reviews and watching videos I thought why not, it doesn't seem that difficult to reduce m! And it's not! I got the all in one kit, rainbow wipes (so I couldn't see the poo) with extra microfiber ones for the dinner table. Filled up the boxes with a bit of help from videos to work out where to fill the water to and which oils to use where (tea tree is the mucky one if you can't guess) and I was away! Absolutely brilliant, it's true that I've only used one wipe per dirty nappy and it's actually now quite a calming activity with the smell of lavender and chamomile. The panic I had over dealing with soiled fabric is not an issue - they just get popped in the mucky box and then easily into the washing machine using the bag. I've taken them out and about with no issue and have introduced them to my little one's nursery. One microfibre wipe has taken over from multiples of baby wipes at the dinner table and I'm so pleased I switched. Who knows, if there's a third child I might even think about reusable nappies.

Really surprised!!
Thursday, 23 August 2018  |  Carly

I purchased the all in one re usable baby wipes kit as I had seen it advertised on facebook. I've always used baby wipes for convenience, but sometimes i feel that I should be doing more for the environment so I took the plunge and bought washable ones. I was a little unsure at first. The kit takes moments to set up and then it is ready to use. Strangely , I couldn't wait for my son to have a poo so I could really test them out!. Well i didnt have to wait long. It only took one wipe to thoroughly clean a poo explosion!. I couldn't believe it. Even my husband was surprised. I've had the wipe kit for nearly 2 weeks now and I won't be going back to disposables. I've washed them and they have come out lovely. I change the water in the fresh tub every 2 days to freshen them up and wash the mucky ones in dettol laundry cleanser on a 30 or 60 wash. I even took them out on a trip for the first time and the travel bags are so easy to use. My little one is always lovely and clean. I will be recommending to them to everyone and will be buying more re usable products from cheeky wipes in the future!

So much easier than disposable wipes
Thursday, 23 August 2018  |  Sarah

Even my husband (who is all about convenience) was totally sold on using these wipes after just one use of them. So much easier than messing about trying to get disposable wipes out of their packet. Plus you only like need to use 1 or 2 per dirty nappy (when you would normally need 5 or 6 wipes).

Surprisingly not gross
Monday, 30 July 2018  |  Fiona

The idea of reusable loo roll was a bit of an uneasy decision, but I wanted to try it. Iíve seen sewage treatment plants and blocked drains frequently through my job, so could certainly see the positives of making such a change.
I have to say that I love it. Itís a much cleaner feeling than traditional loo roll, and the bag system is great inside the mucky box. I have invested in some laundry sanitiser to kill any bacteria that will be growing in the box. This has addressed all of my concerns, and I actually dislike having to use normal toilet paper when Iím out now. Thank you for helping me with this change - I love it! I do have to say that I havenít felt confident to tell anyone yet though - Iím not sure a lot of people would be ready to accept such a change...

Best Pants EVER!!!
Sunday, 29 July 2018  |  Olivia

I got these as I love the cloth pads Cheeky Wipes do. They are so comfortable and do not leak at all even on a heavy day. Iím not a small girl definitely bigger than a 16 and the 16/18 fitted me nicely. I wish Iíd bought more. So nice to not have to technically wear anything at that time. They arenít very thick at all but are so absorbent like magic. I would say only slightly thicker than your average cotton pants. Thinner than regular pads or cloth pads. Iíll definitely be stocking up.

The All-In-One kit is fabulous!
Tuesday, 24 July 2018  |  Jessica

The all-in-one kit contains everything needed, 25 wipes is plenty for a few days - I use half of them while the other half are in the wash. The oil for the mucky box smells lovely and it only takes two or occasionally three wipes to deal with the worst poosplosion, compared to 6-8 disposables. The little bags for out and about are a really useful addition and overall the system works really, really surprisingly well. Iím never going back! We do still keep a pack of disposable wipes in the changing bag but I donít like to use them, theyíre rubbish in comparison. I just throw the mucky wipes in the wash whenever I have a baby load on anyway. Iíve just started to see some stains on some of the clean wipes after three weeks of intensive use, but a quick bleach soak sorted that out and theyíre as good as new. Just donít wash them with unfastened Velcro bibs... absolute carnage for the poor wipes!
