Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads from Cheeky Wipes - for normal flow

Size: 22cm x 7cm (approx.) suitable for most days of your period, or general incontinence.

Bamboo / Minky: Leakproof Minkee outer, two layers microfibre, inner layer bamboo charcoal microfleece or bamboo terry

Not sure which pad to choose? See our blog post for more details....

Please note that this listing is for a SINGLE pad, multipacks are available separately.

Care Instructions: Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads. Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

What's the difference between these and the cotton pads? The bamboo minky pads are made of bamboo viscose or charcoal microfleece with a minky outer, being manmade materials, these tend to be a little warmer to wear than the cotton pads. The bamboo minky pads are also slightly thicker and therefore more absorbent than cotton pads, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky rather than the cotton.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!

Why not add some of our reusable intimate wipes to your order and / or a wetbag for carrying clean and dirty pads / wipes? You can also buy the pads in packs of 5 or 10 , alternatively take a look at our Cheeky Mama Sanitary Pad kits and SAVE money!

Absolutely Amazing
Tuesday, 7 August 2018  |

I ordered these on Wednesday to try out this brand as I have not got on with a lot of other brands. They arrived by the Saturday (a week or so quicker than what it stated) and they are so lovely. I have found they don't move around at all and they are lovely and absorbent which is exactly what I needed.

Brilliant product
Thursday, 28 June 2018  |

I couldn't wait to use my new pads and they were great and no leakage. They are brilliant quality and fold up really small which is great. Some of the more stained ones I had to wash twice, but they have now come out clean. A few teething problems in case it helps anyone else - I had a little trouble with the type of underwear I could use them with. I couldn't wear them with a high leg brief as the tabs and poppers were too tight and it started folding the pad, so you need some knickers with a slimmer back to them. I have been since advised to try a bikini style brief which I'm going to try next month. I had slight slippage with these, but I'm sure once I've figured out the direction of the minky with the correct underwear it will be fine. The only thing I could suggest would be slightly wider tabs, but then that would mean more poppers for width adjustment. But overall a great product hence the 5 stars.

Very happy

Very impressed. Itís super soft and comfortable to wear, and absorbs everything perfectly. I will definitely be getting more. The only thing is to wear tight underwear so that it doesnít slide forwards or backwards.

Such a lovely pattern but not got it quite right
Friday, 16 March 2018  |

I absolutely love the look and feel of these reusable pads but it kept moving throughout the time I was wearing it. I think it is because the pad doesn't stick to the inside of the knickers. The popper is a great idea but it then just slides up and down the knickers when I'm walking around! I tried putting it on the smaller popper setting in the hope it would fit more snugly but it still moved and so caused leaking.

Response:

Hi Veronica, just a couple of ideas for you to stop the slipping - the underside fabric (the minky side) can be brushed in 2 different directions. If you are finding the pad slipping a little, try turning it 180 degrees so what was at the front is now at the back - this sounds odd but if the fabric is going in the other direction it grips better on your underwear and stays put! We also recommend wearing a tighter pant with a high percentage of lycra in, this also helps keep them in place.

Good quality
Wednesday, 22 November 2017  |

I've only recently begun using reusable towels, I'm beginning to build up a collection so I don't have to wash what I have every other day. This is the second brand that I have brought, and although I have not yet used the rainbow 0r penguin pattern towels that I have brought it is clear they are going to be comfortable, I can't wait to try them out!
Also there was prompt delivery as well.

Fantastic value
Thursday, 20 September 2018  |  Nicki

I have tried cloth pads on and off over the years and never really took to them. I mostly use a cup but sometimes like the security of having a pad too. These are so comfortable and stay in place really well (but snug fitting pants are a must!). I think they are terrific value and my order came super fast.

Great product!

We have been pleasantly surprised by how easy the switch has been and like that you can still use them out and about with the travel bags. You do need to be pretty disciplined and organised with keeping supplies fresh and would definitely suggest a second pack of wipes so you have plenty for wash rotation. We wash them on a 60 degree wash so they are totally clean and have no issue then using bum wipes for hands and face. Although there is the option to have white ones for hands and face and colours for the bum, comes down to personal preference, but they genuinely clean and fresh. We really started looking at this option because my youngest has really sore nappy rash from every wipe brand we've tried leading to us spending a small fortune on sudocream and other such products. Since using cloth wipes its been a miracle for his bum as its no longer red and sore. I love how usually 1 wipe does the job whereas you need to use some 5-6 packet wipes and we were going through them pack after pack with 2 boys! So bottom line buy them we wouldn't go back now having changed across.

Never looked back!!
Friday, 31 August 2018  |  Becky

I bought these around 18 months ago and they still look like new. I originally ran on night pads and liners which was fine. These cope with 'flooding' amazingly well, I have never had a leak. They haven't stained and they are not gross at all. I was sceptical to read that period pain can be reduced by switching from disposables but its true. My flow is a little lighter and doesn't last as long. I just chuck them in with the washing or with the nappies. I now have a few day pads for the last day, purely because they looked pretty and I'm slightly addicted. They are so soft and don't move around in my underwear even thought they're a shiney material. I use the liners every day just chucking them in the normal wash and they are still like new. Granted they're slightly more grey than white on top but I can deal with that. These are by far some of the cheapest CSP out there. I have tried slightly cheaper but these are made so much better. The quality is untouchable.

I 🖤 period pants
Friday, 31 August 2018  |  Bess

Where have period pants been my whole life? How have I ever survived without them? Oh yes, know, by worrying about leakage, the worldís environment and my internal environment. Not any more thanks to these beauties. There was no leakage, theyíre kind to the environment and kind to me too. Just one thing Iíd like, and thatís a few different colours please, including nude. Thanks 😊.

Feeling at peace with reusable wipes!
Thursday, 30 August 2018  |  Alice

I have been feeling guilty. I'm on my second child and adding to landfill like there's no tomorrow. My husband would use baby wipes to clean the child... car... floor... but I just did not like the idea of poo covered wipes being reusable. However, after finding cheeky wipes via instagram, reading reviews and watching videos I thought why not, it doesn't seem that difficult to reduce m! And it's not! I got the all in one kit, rainbow wipes (so I couldn't see the poo) with extra microfiber ones for the dinner table. Filled up the boxes with a bit of help from videos to work out where to fill the water to and which oils to use where (tea tree is the mucky one if you can't guess) and I was away! Absolutely brilliant, it's true that I've only used one wipe per dirty nappy and it's actually now quite a calming activity with the smell of lavender and chamomile. The panic I had over dealing with soiled fabric is not an issue - they just get popped in the mucky box and then easily into the washing machine using the bag. I've taken them out and about with no issue and have introduced them to my little one's nursery. One microfibre wipe has taken over from multiples of baby wipes at the dinner table and I'm so pleased I switched. Who knows, if there's a third child I might even think about reusable nappies.

Really surprised!!
Thursday, 23 August 2018  |  Carly

I purchased the all in one re usable baby wipes kit as I had seen it advertised on facebook. I've always used baby wipes for convenience, but sometimes i feel that I should be doing more for the environment so I took the plunge and bought washable ones. I was a little unsure at first. The kit takes moments to set up and then it is ready to use. Strangely , I couldn't wait for my son to have a poo so I could really test them out!. Well i didnt have to wait long. It only took one wipe to thoroughly clean a poo explosion!. I couldn't believe it. Even my husband was surprised. I've had the wipe kit for nearly 2 weeks now and I won't be going back to disposables. I've washed them and they have come out lovely. I change the water in the fresh tub every 2 days to freshen them up and wash the mucky ones in dettol laundry cleanser on a 30 or 60 wash. I even took them out on a trip for the first time and the travel bags are so easy to use. My little one is always lovely and clean. I will be recommending to them to everyone and will be buying more re usable products from cheeky wipes in the future!

So much easier than disposable wipes
Thursday, 23 August 2018  |  Sarah

Even my husband (who is all about convenience) was totally sold on using these wipes after just one use of them. So much easier than messing about trying to get disposable wipes out of their packet. Plus you only like need to use 1 or 2 per dirty nappy (when you would normally need 5 or 6 wipes).

Surprisingly not gross
Monday, 30 July 2018  |  Fiona

The idea of reusable loo roll was a bit of an uneasy decision, but I wanted to try it. Iíve seen sewage treatment plants and blocked drains frequently through my job, so could certainly see the positives of making such a change.
I have to say that I love it. Itís a much cleaner feeling than traditional loo roll, and the bag system is great inside the mucky box. I have invested in some laundry sanitiser to kill any bacteria that will be growing in the box. This has addressed all of my concerns, and I actually dislike having to use normal toilet paper when Iím out now. Thank you for helping me with this change - I love it! I do have to say that I havenít felt confident to tell anyone yet though - Iím not sure a lot of people would be ready to accept such a change...

Best Pants EVER!!!
Sunday, 29 July 2018  |  Olivia

I got these as I love the cloth pads Cheeky Wipes do. They are so comfortable and do not leak at all even on a heavy day. Iím not a small girl definitely bigger than a 16 and the 16/18 fitted me nicely. I wish Iíd bought more. So nice to not have to technically wear anything at that time. They arenít very thick at all but are so absorbent like magic. I would say only slightly thicker than your average cotton pants. Thinner than regular pads or cloth pads. Iíll definitely be stocking up.
