Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pad Multipack from Cheeky Wipes.  Choose from packs of 5 or 10

Optional: Add some reusable intimate wipes or a double wetbag to keep your clean and dirty pads and wipes in or for using out and about

Minky pad packs contain 5 pads in different colours, cotton & organic cotton pad kits all pads will be the same design.

Mixed use packs contain the following - 5 pack has 1 liner, 3 day pads, 1 night pad. 10 pack has 2 liners, 6 day pads, 2 night pads.

What's the difference between these and the cotton pads? The bamboo minky pads are made of bamboo viscose or charcoal microfleece with a minky outer, being manmade materials, these tend to be a little warmer to wear than the cotton pads. The bamboo minky pads are also slightly thicker and therefore more absorbent than cotton pads, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky rather than the cotton.

Care Instructions:  Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.  Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!

The Cheeky Mama pads measure 24cm x 7cm (main pad without wings) and have poppers allowing them to close underneath the gusset of your pants, which allows them to fold in on themselves for discreet carrying.

There are four layers, making them very absorbent without being at all bulky. Really!

  • Outside Waterproof Minkee PUL
  • Middle 2 layers microfibre
  • Top Layer bamboo

Why not add some of our reusable intimate wipes to your order and / or a wetbag for carrying clean and dirty pads / wipes? You can also buy the pads in packs of 5 or 10 , alternatively take a look at our Cheeky Mama Sanitary Pad kits and SAVE money!

For a long time I wanted to change to reusable pads and I am very impressed!
They are very comfy to wear and very easy to clean. I wash them by hand as I use them but you can as well fold them and put them in the WM
100% Recommended!

I’ve just used these for the first time. I was sceptical to say the least considering I have awful periods but actually I regret not getting these sooner! I use pads alone and am not disappointed in the least.

Brought as, due to medical reasons, I have incredibly heavy periods. Normally I have to go through 6 pads a day on my heaviest. With these I use three max! Comfortable, reducing my waste and saving money!

Cloth Pads and Period Pants - I've seen the light!
Friday, 7 June 2019  |

I had looked into cloth pads previously through other websites and got really confused about what I needed and what was right for my cycle. I really recommend filling in the questionnaire before purchasing - this helped me realise I didn't need to buy a truck load of reusable cloth pads alongside what my needs were! I also went back and forth with additional queries that were answered no problem. This really gave me the confidence that what I was purchasing was correct – this, to me is another factor that sets Cheeky Wipes apart from their competition.

I purchased a set of period pants and a mixed set of pads (Bamboo Minky) and a few additional liners as I use pantyliners each day outside of my period. My order arrived part way through my period so I put them straight to the test. The period pants were fab - a real revelation. I was worried they'd be 'bulky' but they weren't, they feel just like normal pants but super absorbent! The cloth pads also don’t feel bulky – I used to wear thicker disposable pads and the cloth pads are by far more comfortable. Since my purchase I’ve had another cycle so have used them throughout a whole period now too.

On my heavier days I double up with a cloth pad and period pants, however so far have had minimal if any leaks from the pad onto the period pants. When using disposable pads on my heavier days I would inevitably leak a bit onto my pants regardless of how frequently I changed my pads. The pads also feel more comfortable against me than a disposable pad and despite one incident I find the pads stay in place well. They also feel quite breathable compared to disposable pads which I found a bit ‘sweaty’. Wear cloth pads with tighter fitting pants - which I know seems to go against normal conventions when on your period, but it really helps keep the pads in place.

Rinsing and soaking was straight forward. I make sure to rinse the pants/cloth pads immediately after use and put them in my mucky box to soak with the essential oil blend. Rinsing really is key – I was amazed at how much that removes alone! When out I just use a little soap to aid rinsing and pop in a mucky bag. Before popping them in the wash I applied some stain remover (I had some of the Astonish stain remover - highly recommend!) and put my wash on the anti-stain cycle and turned down to 20'. I also popped the pants into a net laundry bag to protect the lace - I always find lace can 'pluck' a bit in the wash. So far only one pair of pants shows a slight stain, but I think this is likely to be user error on my part, plus only I can see it so don’t really mind. With the cloth pads I line dry them to let the sun aid in bleaching them too. I have a family so have a wash going every day/every other day so haven’t encountered any issues with washing the cloth pads/period pants.

There really is very little odour, more just your normal body odour (if that makes sense) and I even asked my mum and partner if they could ‘smell me’! After giving me a very confused look, they confirmed they couldn’t! There is far less odour than with disposable pads, also the soaking solution stops further lingering odours. I used to dispose of my sanitary towels in nappy sacks to disguise the smell, but this helps negate that additional waste also.

As others have said size down for the period pants (lace top) - they will still appear a bit big to look at but think that's more the style or for me the style compared to my normal pants. Like other reviewers I found that I had to use fewer cloth pads than I would disposable pads – they really are absorbent! I would also ordinarily use ‘long’ disposable pads to ensure coverage/leak protection. However, with cloth pads (I appreciate this may a) sound odd b) be unique to me) I found my flow only ever went in a more forward direction, so I was no longer reliant on the night pad length during the day. I assume this is because of the materials of the cloth pad compared to a disposable pad? Either way it’s made confident in the protection the cloth pads will provide during my cycle. I’m so glad I’ve made the change and with the help of the questionnaire have found the right combination of cloth pads/period pants for my cycle.

First time using reusable towels & must say that I wouldn’t go back to the disposable ones now. These were great, comfortable, no odour, easy to wash (definitely get a box to soak them in & rinse out if you can first!) my only criticism was that sometime I found the towel to move a bit so it wasn’t sitting where I wanted it to but it wasn’t an issue. Good value for money & super absorbent for my flow!

Good service but don't like the pads
Saturday, 1 June 2019  |

I love cheeky wipes and their product and cannot fault them. However been trying these liners for a week and I have two issues with them. One despite being soaked in a wet box for three days and then washing they really smell bad (and I don't want to use any product) also I just can't get along with them, I find they move around alot and don't sit right. I can't afford to try several types so gutted I'm not getting along with these.

Response:

Hi Tegan, Thanks for your feedback, I'm sorry you're having issues with your pads. Because pads tend to be more soiled than most thing in your washing machine, it's necessary to wash them on a decent wash cycle, with proper detergent. Eco balls etc, just won't cut it. I've been using these for 4 years now and there's no smell at all to them (as the number of people that I show my used pads to at Baby Shows can testify!) Big pants with a decent percentage of lycra is key to keeping them in place - I'm happy to pop you out a cotton pad to try free of charge if you'd like to contact customer services?

I Want To Go Plastic Free
Wednesday, 22 May 2019  |

This product has been a great way for me to get away from single use plastic.
It shocks me how much plastic is used in everyday panty liners and period pads including the excessive wrapping of these items. It's time to go green girls and embrace the washable ones

Absorbs a LOT and no chafing!
Tuesday, 21 May 2019  |

I bought the 5-pack BAMBOO  Blue Dragonfly,  Day Pad and Night Pad, (5 each). I have used them once.

For disposable, I go through 10 ultra night pads, an 12 day pads during my 5 day period, although not always, even then I have had issues of leakage.

However, for my whole period this time I used 2 (!) night pads, 2 day pads, backed up with period pants and the last two days only had the period pants. Although I stayed home most of these days and as such could run to the loo if I felt the "gushing", this is way beyond my expectations!

Instead of going through packets of disposables, I used 2 night pads, 2 day pads, 3 lace and 3 sport pants. I am very much impressed!

So easy to make the switch!
Monday, 15 July 2019  |  Rachel

I am so glad I got the full kit with a mix of cotton and minkey style pads, it gave me a chance to experiment with the different options and decide which worked best for me. It also made moving over to reusables so easy as I had everything I needed on hand to get going, At the same time I also purchased a double wet bag and a 3 pack of period pants. Having only used these items for one period so far, I did still have to use a disposable pad because I hadn't factored in the washing and drying time, but I'll know better next time. So far, I have washed on a separate cold wash and they've all come up perfectly clean and ready to go again. The t-tree drops to go in the mucky box is a nice touch and helps keep everything fresh smelling between washes. My only struggle with the move to reusable sanitary products was being able to find somewhere discrete to rinse pads when not at home, when I wasn’t able to do this I dropped the pad in my travel bag anyway and made sure to give it a really good soak, and some stain remover, as soon as possible and they’ve been fine.

Life changing!
Thursday, 20 June 2019  |  Charlotte

Well, I'm never going back to single use menstrual products. Ever. I bought these in a size 6-8 (I'm a really borderline 8-10) and although they said 4-6 on the underwear when they arrived, they fit perfectly - so definirely follow the advice and go a size down.
They do feel like bikini bottoms, but that's fine! They're not heavy in anyway, and in absolutely no way are they detectable under gym clothes, let alone jeans.

Leaks?! What leaks? I put these to the ultimate test: I wore one pair, without taking any spare, to work on my heaviest day. This meant I wore the pair from 6am until I got home and showered that night at 8.30pm. On my heaviest day. Absolutely no smell, absolutely no leak. Yes, by about 6.45pm they felt abit wet, but not really uncomfortable, I was just aware they needed changing. But I'd already gone over the recommended 12 hours by then anyway!

One thing i would say is don't wash these on a cold wash - I washed them separately in a cold wash halfway through my cycle (I didnt buy enough to cover my whole week as I was meant to be a test) and they did stain. When I put them through with the rest of y2k washing on a 30c wash, they came out good as new. But like others have said, they do take a while to dry. Not a problem in the summer, but as they don't tumble dry, you'd need a full set to get you through the week in the winter as they do take a couple days to air dry.

All in all, I recommend them to anyone who will listen! Comfortable, cheaper than competitors, do exactly what they promise to, and no more menstrual products going to landfill! Result!

I bought these for my daughter who is 13 and was finding pads awful and tampons impossible. She lives them! No leaks, no slipping or sticking or discomfort. Definitely follow the advice to size down. She's a 6-8 and the 4-6 fit perfectly. They wash well and dry fairly quickly. I'll definitely be buying here some more so that I don't have to be quite so on it with the wash cycle.

Great product, great price. The advice to size down is good. I'm a 16-18 usually but bought the 14-16 which fit perfectly. My periods are not mega heavy but I found I wanted to change them in the middle of the first day. After that one pair at night and one in the day worked fine. I only bought three pairs to try but I'll be buying more so I don't have to be quite so on top of the wash cycle. Best of all, I haven't thrown anything away. I will be recommending them to everyone I know!

These pants are so comfortable, absorbent and practical. I was nervous at first but needn’t have been. I even did a half marathon in them! For a medium flow there was no leaking and any days I wanted a little reassurance I used the cheeky wipes ultrapad cotton cloth sanitary pads instead.
My skin is grateful and the planet too.
Only heads up would be that the absorbent layers run all the way down the back of the pants to the gusset so if you are a ‘front bleeder’ it potentially could stop a little short for you.

Love them, changed my period!
Tuesday, 21 May 2019  |  Sara

I Love them! Felt so safe wearing them the days, and especially nights leading up-to my period (especially as it came early!), and even more so during the first few days. I had them backing up a pad at first, which was great as I tend to have spillover at sides. Then at the end I only used them. I prefer these lace top ones to the Sport style as it covers more and a full absorbency layer.

The quality is excellent. I did not leak, and they are comfortable and don’t feel wet. When I felt them the gusset being cold, I changed them for a fresh pair.

They have changed my experience of having my period hugely!

For product development, I'd love a high waist version

Thank you Cheeky Wipes!

These pretty. Reusable pads are gentle but strong and when used with coconut oil quickly make your make up melt away .They are easy. To wash and make you wonder why you have ever used anything disposable on your face. My daughter says they are like little clouds to clean your face !

Great pads and more absorbent than expected
Thursday, 16 May 2019  |  Sarah

I'm a new convert to washable pads and have found these day pads great. Easy to rinse out with cold water, soak in the mucky box with a few drops of oil then machine wash on 30. No stains at all. Brilliant!
