Cheeky Pants Cloth Sanitary Pad 10 Multi-pack from Cheeky Wipes.

Optional: Add some reusable intimate wipes or a double wetbag to keep your clean and dirty pads and wipes in or for using out and about

Mixed use packs contain the following - 10 pack has 2 liners, 6 day pads, 2 night pads.

What's the difference between these and the cotton pads? The bamboo minky pads are made of bamboo viscose or charcoal microfleece with a minky outer, being manmade materials, these tend to be a little warmer to wear than the cotton pads. The bamboo minky pads are also slightly thicker and therefore more absorbent than cotton pads, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky rather than the cotton.

Care Instructions:  Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.  Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

Cheeky Pants Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!

The Cheeky Pants pads measure 24cm x 7cm (main pad without wings) and have poppers allowing them to close underneath the gusset of your pants, which allows them to fold in on themselves for discreet carrying.

There are four layers, making them very absorbent without being at all bulky. Really!

  • Outside Waterproof Minkee PUL
  • Middle 2 layers microfibre
  • Top Layer bamboo

Bamboo / Bamboo Charcoal facing upwards

Insert the pad into your knickers with the bamboo or bamboo charcoal face upwards.  Close the poppers underneath the gusset of your knickers.

Tight Pants

Firstly, I usually try to wear fairly tight fitting pants.  If you usually keep your old, saggy. baggy pants which have really seen better days for that time of the month, time to invest in some new ones!  Tighter pants will help a cloth pad stay in place and avoid slippage.  Cotton knickers are best or cotton / lycra mix.

Turn around if you suffer from slippage

The soft outer Minky fabric has some grip - if it is inserted against the nap of the fabric.  If you notice that your pad is slipping, turn it around 180 degrees, front to back.

  • Rinse them in cold water when you change them and then soak in cold water until you are ready to wash them.
  • Wash at 20c or 30c on a longer cycle, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.
  • You can give them a squirt of stain spray and/or add a scoop of stain powder to the wash

  • No fabric softener!

  • Line dry, reshape whilst damp.
  • Do not tumble dry

  • No bleach

  • Wash dark colours separately.

  • Vegan friendly
  • Oekotex certified
  • Paraban free
  • SLS free

Absolutely fab!

I bought these for my 17 year old daughter. We both love them! Having used washable nappies with both my children, the idea of washable sanitary pads was nothing new and I donít know why I didnít do it earlier! These wash brilliantly and are very easy to rinse out. When you do so , you realise how absorbent they are. I have washed them at 40 degrees (admittedly with a squirt of laundry Ďbleachí and sometimes some whitener) and they look like new. Have just purchased some mucky wipes oil (from here to soak them in and a box to soak them in so they smell nice before washing. I also bought a white mesh bag to pop them all in the wash. Will be recommending these pads to my younger friends. Think I will need to buy more for my daughter so she has enough for a whole period. Husband delighted that he no longer has to buy sanitary products at the supermarket. A win win !

Fabulous

I was reluctant at first, but now I wish Iíd made the change sooner! Iím so pleased with them - really soft and comfortable, easy to use and clean, good for the environment and better for my bank balance too! They do move a little as others have mentioned, but for me it hasnít been enough to consider it problematic. That could easily be fixed with a little safety pin if it became bothersome. Bonus points for how good the customer service is too, would recommend

Definitely a great way to reduce waste!

So far I've only used the panty liners as my baby is only 10 months old. They feel so comfortable and don't rub like the plastic disposal one's. I'm going to slowly add to my pads so I am ready once my periods decide to come back!

Super soft

Super soft and leave you feeling clean. However, I did find some moved around a lot causing leaking but found if I wore tighter fitting knickers this stopped.

Easy care and comfortable

I've invested in a few of these as a 'safety net' for heavier days. They stay put in well fitting knickers and are comfortable. The only reason I've dropped a star is that they take a long time to dry so you need a fair few available, also they are - unsurprisingly - a bit bulky so you do notice you're wearing them. Not as bad as the pads I had in my early teens though that seemed to be a foot thick!!
