Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads from Cheeky Wipes - for light flow

Size:        19cm x 7cm (approx.) suitable for light days of your period or mild incontinence

Bamboo / Minky:  Leakproof Minkee outer, one layer microfibre, inner layer bamboo charcoal microfleece or bamboo terry

What's the difference between these and the cotton pads? The bamboo minky pads are made of bamboo viscose or charcoal microfleece with a minky outer, being manmade materials, these tend to be a little warmer to wear than the cotton pads. The bamboo minky pads are also slightly thicker and therefore more absorbent than cotton pads, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky rather than the cotton.

Please note that this listing is for a SINGLE pad

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!

Why not add some of our reusable intimate wipes to your order and / or a wetbag for carrying clean and dirty pads / wipes? Take a look at our Cheeky Mama Sanitary Pad kits and SAVE money!

Bamboo / Bamboo Charcoal facing upwards

Insert the pad into your knickers with the bamboo or bamboo charcoal face upwards.  Close the poppers underneath the gusset of your knickers.

Tight Pants

Firstly, I usually try to wear fairly tight fitting pants.  If you usually keep your old, saggy. baggy pants which have really seen better days for that time of the month, time to invest in some new ones!  Tighter pants will help a cloth pad stay in place and avoid slippage.  Cotton knickers are best or cotton / lycra mix.

Turn around if you suffer from slippage

The soft outer Minky fabric has some grip - if it is inserted against the nap of the fabric.  If you notice that your pad is slipping, turn it around 180 degrees, front to back.

  • Rinse them in cold water when you change them and then soak in cold water until you are ready to wash them.
  • Wash at 20c or 30c on a longer cycle, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.
  • You can give them a squirt of stain spray and/or add a scoop of stain powder to the wash

  • No fabric softener!

  • Line dry, reshape whilst damp.
  • Do not tumble dry

  • No bleach

  • Wash dark colours separately.

  • Vegan friendly
  • Oekotex certified
  • Paraban free
  • SLS free

Panty Liners
Saturday, 28 September 2019  |

I have been using these for a couple of years now and they have been great. For some reason the white ones seem less prone to moving than the grey ones. When I first had them I was peri menopausal and it was great to have the assurance daily of not worrying re any discharge. They also cope with minor stress incontinence from sneezing etc. Thoroughly recommend these.

fav for periods, not great for leaking wee
Saturday, 14 September 2019  |

I have to overshare to leave a review... These are comfortable to wear, well made, wash well and dry extremely quickly.. a bargain in the sale. But I bought them for light urinary incontinence. Iím left feeling slightly damp and uncomfortable, Iím not entirely sure why, and being synthetic odor control after a whole day isnít great. HOWEVER as I have them I thought Iíd try them for my period and they are something else. The first time you try I recommended you rinse out by hand to see how much blood itís holding. I changed mine after a couple of hours assuming Iíd not bled much because I was so comfortable, boy was I wrong. These are amazing for blood. I rinse or soak in cold water so the stain doesnít set then wash at 40 degrees with my regular laundry even though this is not recommended. 4 not 5 stars because they are also marketed for incontinence.

Good product
Thursday, 8 August 2019  |

Iíve recently changed from disposable liners to cheeky mama liners. Took a bit of getting used to as they can move about but they are really good quality. They soak well in the mucky box with a few drops of tea tree and wash well with no marks. They can take a few days dry depending on weather

Great product at a great price
Monday, 5 August 2019  |

These are great liners and not expensive. They do feel different but I am sure I will get used to them. A small price to pay when saving unnecessary waste going to landfill. Would recommend.

Really soft and comfortable
Monday, 22 July 2019  |

I ordered 2 of these and a cotton one just to try to see which fabric worked best for me. These bamboo milky pads are really soft and feel nice against your skin. I gave birth 2 weeks ago and they do a great job with absorption.

I marked it down a star as I much prefer the performance of the cotton liner, the bamboo is slightly too slippery for me and moved more than the cotton. But still brilliant.

They rinse out really well in cold water and wash with no stains what so ever. So if you are worried about leaving stains, this is the liver/pad for you
(I got the charcoal topping)

Soft but big and badly slipping
Thursday, 18 July 2019  |

Product arrived very swift. Very soft to touch and love the charcoal colour rather than white.
Used one at the end of my period but had great trouble with it staying in place while on a walk, to the degree that I actually removed it. Have used cloth pads before but this slipped much more unfortunately. I'm UK size 8 and it is very loose (could do with another clasp). I might attach Velcro for future use

Response:

Hi Siobhan, I'm sorry you are having a slight issue with the pads. A couple of ways to stop the slipping is to first turn the pad around 180 degrees so what was at the front is now at the back. The minky fabric can be brushed in 2 directions - one more grippy than the other so when you turn it around it should stay put. We also recommend a good tighter pant with some lycra in as this also helps. I wear my M&S bikini style with 5% lycra and they don't budge.

Better than I first thought
Saturday, 22 June 2019  |

I was sceptical about buying these at first , I worried about dryness and comfort but these panty liners are great. One I donít feel a thing and secondly the worry of dryness boy I was wrong genuinely , I usually hand wash mine and they feel dry instantly even after that so anyone in doubt this is a great step to a more sustainable lady hygiene kit.

Period pants / sanitary pads
Saturday, 15 June 2019  |

These pants are fab, I order one pair and have now reordered the Multi sports pack. There fab for running, gym and trampolining with grandkids. Iíve no idea why anyone would want to purchase disposable bladder weakness pants when these are available, feel much more confident in them
