Our Cheeky Pants Cloth Sanitary Pad starter kits contain:

Optional: Add extra pads, some reusable intimate wipes or a mucky box to soak your dirty pads

Bamboo & Minky pad kits contain 5 pads in patterns of your choice

What's the difference between these and the cotton pads? The bamboo minky pads are made of bamboo viscose or charcoal microfleece with a minky outer, being manmade materials, these tend to be a little warmer to wear than the cotton pads. The bamboo minky pads are also slightly thicker and therefore more absorbent than cotton pads, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky rather than the cotton.

Cheeky Pants Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill! Bamboo / Bamboo Charcoal facing upwards

Insert the pad into your knickers with the bamboo or bamboo charcoal face upwards.  Close the poppers underneath the gusset of your knickers.

Tight Pants

Firstly, I usually try to wear fairly tight fitting pants.  If you usually keep your old, saggy. baggy pants which have really seen better days for that time of the month, time to invest in some new ones!  Tighter pants will help a cloth pad stay in place and avoid slippage.  Cotton knickers are best or cotton / lycra mix.

Turn around if you suffer from slippage

The soft outer Minky fabric has some grip - if it is inserted against the nap of the fabric.  If you notice that your pad is slipping, turn it around 180 degrees, front to back.

  • Rinse them in cold water when you change them and then soak in cold water until you are ready to wash them.
  • Wash at 20c or 30c on a longer cycle, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.
  • You can give them a squirt of stain spray and/or add a scoop of stain powder to the wash

  • No fabric softener!

  • Line dry, reshape whilst damp.
  • Do not tumble dry

  • No bleach

  • Wash dark colours separately.

Disposable Pads - Never Again!
Wednesday, 9 September 2020  |

I should have done this YEARS ago!!

Iíve been using disposable liners and pads for longer than I can remember, and wished these products existed way back when! But Iíve found them now - and it took me some time of sourcing to settle on a brand and company I felt would be ethical as well as sustainable.

I ordered the starter kit to get a feel for them, to see if I could get on with them, and have been so happy, I went and bought a 5-pack of them day pads

Easy to care for - I also ordered the mucky wipes tub, and I soak my pads (I use them every day) in an oxy solution and cold water and then pop them in my Norma wash - they come up beautifully and I believe are so well made they will be hard wearing enough to last me a good while

Highly recommend!

Stick with it
Thursday, 20 August 2020  |

Starter kit was a good choice. I searched online a lot to find a set that had a range of sizes so I could sample everything for a reasonable price, so I defintely felt this was the best deal I could find.

Yes it is a bit more work than disposables but I feel I am making a real difference to the environment in doing so, so will stick with it.

Pads are comfier than disposable pads. They are thicker but it feels more like a little cushion and are comfy.
Due to their thicker nature they are slightly more VPL worthy, but this is easily worked around with just choosing clothes that aren't skin tight particularly the night /heavy pad.

Pads are absorbent. Coping with heavy flow well.
Really comfy when I went running compared to disposable pads

**Do really take note of the types of pants it says on the website to use with them. They stay in place well with reccomended material/type, but do slip if wearing unsuitable underwear**

I think it will still take me a while to get used to particularly if I go away for a week/weekend and how to deal with the rinsing and storing, but I will be buying a few more to get me through the time of the month!

A much better alternative to disposables!
Sunday, 24 May 2020  |

Bought this kit as it had everything, just to try it out, and it's safe to say these products reached my high expectations. I've been sick of disposables for years... the reusable pads are much more comfortable, a lot more absorbent and they don't stink! I will be converting fully to reusables and will recommend them to others. One thing to mention though - be sure to wear something tight fitting with these pads as they can move (can wear tight pants or tight shorts over pants). I have actually found that to be an advantage in a way - with disposables, once you stick them on, it's difficult to adjust them if the position is wrong, and unsticking and resticking is a big hassle, at some point it stops sticking or I end up tearing the pad sometimes. With reusables, I can adjust them any time to any position with no problem.

Just as it should be!
Wednesday, 20 May 2020  |

I bought this as a test run as I'm a lady of certain age who doesn't need pads each month but more for incontinence issues(!). The first thing I did when they arrived was to try pouring water on them, measuring how much they could hold to give me some confidence when out. Considering these are not designed for incontinence I was pleasantly surprised by how much they took. The large one will give me peace of mind when going on longer journeys or walks, should I have more than a little leakage or can't get to a toilet as fast as needed.
The first time I wore one I obviously got the nap the wrong way round as it was very uncomfortable but a quick look at the FAQs and that was rectified, now I always wear one when I am out and about walking our dog, happy that any minor issues are covered.

Complete success
Wednesday, 22 April 2020  |

I have been meaning to try these for a while. I suffer from PCOS and so have very heavy erratic periods and I spend a fortune on pads which even when I wear them with a tampon regularly leak. These pads are amazing. They are comfy to wear and I soaked them in cold water before washing and they came out sparkling clean! Easy to just chuck in the tumble drier and not a single leak. Iím obviously staying home (covid19) so i havenít tested the bag etc but I will definitely be buying more although will probably stick to the night ones as I am used to a longer pad.

This pack of pads are so cute! Amazingly soft! I haven't had the opportunity to use them yet, but I tried them for size, and the size range is great!

A great starter kit
Saturday, 12 October 2019  |

This is a great starter kit, to get the grip of how to use reusable sanitary pads. You get a very good variety of pads and they have been enough to go through my first period with reusable sanitary pads. They also dry very fast, which is good in terms of avoiding running out of pads.

Amazing product
Thursday, 3 October 2019  |

I was hesitant at trying these reusable sanitary pads but now wish I had converted sooner! Took a bit of getting used to, putting the right way so they didn't move in the underwear but they are so much more comfortable than disposable pads seem to absorb so much more! Also the cleaning of them isn't as yucky as I imagined! A complete convert and will be using reusables from now on!
