Our Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pad starter kits contain:

Optional: Add extra pads, some reusable intimate wipes or a mucky box to soak your dirty pads

Bamboo & Minky pad kits contain 5 pads in different colours.

What's the difference between these and the cotton pads? The bamboo minky pads are made of bamboo viscose or charcoal microfleece with a minky outer, being manmade materials, these tend to be a little warmer to wear than the cotton pads. The bamboo minky pads are also slightly thicker and therefore more absorbent than cotton pads, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky rather than the cotton.

Care Instructions:  Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.  Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill! If you're new to all this (or just new to Cheeky Mama's) then read our top tips on how to use Cheeky Mama Cloth Pads, plus how to care for your Cheeky Mama Cloth Pads - it couldn't be easier!

These pads have been brilliant! the bag is great for storage in the bathroom and out and about. Comfortable and great for heavy periods, i would suggest the charcoal over cotton and bamboo as they can stain easier. Will never go back to disposable pads again. Although i don't know if it is saving me money as i keep buying new ones to add to my collection

Great product
Sunday, 9 September 2018  |

Purchased these on the recommendation of my daughter. I found that the regular disposable pads that I had been using for years were making me really sore and often leaked anyway. I bought the starter kit and added extra pads. Tried these and very impressed. Comfortable to wear, donít slip and very absorbent. Rinsing the used pads out was fine, not gross at all. Have just purchased more pads and a box to soak them in until I have enough to put in the wash. Good for the environment too. I would recommend these and only wish they had been around when I was younger!

Disappointing
Sunday, 9 September 2018  |

These slips and scrunch and twist and roll upside down.
Was advised to brush the fabric the wrong way and wear tight pants.
Still no use - only a muffin top 🙈
I LOVED the idea of them, but feel I've wasted my money.
It's not just cheeky wipes though, I've bought other brands and some (with PUL backing) are worse.

I prefer the cotton ones
Saturday, 1 September 2018  |

I loved the night one but I found the smaller sizes kept sliding back in my underwear. I did love the colour (I got the charcoal ones) because they didnít stain very obviously. I also found them a little too warm for summer. I would definitely use the night one for my heaviest day though because itís more absorbent that the cotton.

Iíve been toying with the idea of re-usables for some time but never felt ready to take the plunge! So pleased I did and really pleased I chose Cheeky Wipes to do it with. So comfortable and so well made. I have full confidence with these products and Iím thrilled I no longer have to literally flush money down the toilet and damage our environment.

Best Pads ever
Saturday, 9 June 2018  |

When the Sanitary Pad STARTER Kit arrived i was pleasantly surprised to find how soft they where, of corse i wore one as soon as they arrived, i just couldn't wait to try them. On that day i had to go take my bike for repairs and ended up having to walk 4 hours nonstop (i admit i got a bit lost.) and when i arrived home the pad was still in the proper place, didn't roll around didn't fold. the comercial ones usualy fold in the front and stick to my skin after a while and is super unconfortable. that didn't happen with these. Also the bag is really soft too and is very convenient to carry the pads and the wipes around (i ordered some wipes with the kit, it was in the options and i was curious what they where about xD). I also loved the wipes. All in all i think i loved everything about the kit. And i've also already ordered more ;D i'm very exitedly awaiting for them to arrive. the costumer service was also very good when i needed help (not being in uk can sometimes pose some dificulties with the deliveries). The papers that came with the kit led me to belive i might have some troubles with the pads because my underwear didn't compleatly fit the description, but no such problem. I'm very happy and i'm defnetly ordering more from this website when i need! also trying the other products as well.

Starter kit cotton
Friday, 1 June 2018  |

I've just started using them and they are amazing; feel soo much nicer than santary products. They even wash well on 35 min wash in a washer dryer and take only a few hours to air off.
I have also Handwash the pads in soapy water and dryed them on a heated towel heater.
I love the colour and design, I have cotton ones.
I know it seams a big expense to begin with but it's going to save me in the long run; I was spending over £5 or more a time on satary products a time when you times that by 12 it's £60 year or more. Don't forget santary products that you buy from shops are taxed to if you live in UK; so that will be one less bit of tax I be paying lol .
I urge people to give these a go and not only you be saving money but you be having less impact on environment; Ie yout not be adding rubbish to landfill.
The cloth that came free have come in handy to; I carry one with me for when I'm eating out and about, fir example on a pic nic .
Thanks very much and I wish I knew about your fantastic products years ago .
I will be telling my friends about Cheeky Whips .

Comfortable, easy to use & no fuss
Thursday, 24 May 2018  |

I got these mainly to deal with overflow from my mooncup which can sometimes be a huge problem!

Really love the bag which I also use to store my make up removal pads and spare pads in the front pocket.

Simple to pop them together for shoving in your bag, and once they are used if you are out of the house you can just pop them in the wet bag.

Wish I'd tried these sooner
Tuesday, 22 May 2018  |

I decided not to use my moon cup this month, so I could give the cloth sani pads a proper try out, and I was so impressed I really wish I'd given them a go sooner!

I realised pretty quickly, that if I put the pads in with the nap (the direction of the fuzz on the velour) laying so the smooth goes backwards, they do wriggle back a bit and I ended up getting leaks at the front; but once I'd figured that I've out and started putting them in the other way around, so the smooth direction was going forwards, I had no problems at all.

They were significantly less gross than I was expecting, especially given how moon cups can leave you looking like you've been sacrificing small rodents to Mother Nature! They are surprisingly absorbent, and I actually found I had less period pain or other PMS symptoms than usual. Cleaning them was a breeze, and for the first time ever I am actually slightly looking forward to my next visit from the period fairy, so I can use them again! Full marks, Cheeky Wipes!!

Buy them. Do it now.

Great designs, obviously a great reusable replacement for the plasticky standard ones, and really comfortable. I particularly like the liners which could maybe be slightly more shaped (curved in in the middle) but they are soft, easy to wash and dry, don't move - unless you put them on the wrong way (feel the nap) and, I've said it already, but they are just so comfortable - much nicer on the lady parts than the standard liners/pads. Worth the money and I wish I'd got them sooner!

Fantastic value
Thursday, 20 September 2018  |  Nicki

I have tried cloth pads on and off over the years and never really took to them. I mostly use a cup but sometimes like the security of having a pad too. These are so comfortable and stay in place really well (but snug fitting pants are a must!). I think they are terrific value and my order came super fast.

Great product!

We have been pleasantly surprised by how easy the switch has been and like that you can still use them out and about with the travel bags. You do need to be pretty disciplined and organised with keeping supplies fresh and would definitely suggest a second pack of wipes so you have plenty for wash rotation. We wash them on a 60 degree wash so they are totally clean and have no issue then using bum wipes for hands and face. Although there is the option to have white ones for hands and face and colours for the bum, comes down to personal preference, but they genuinely clean and fresh. We really started looking at this option because my youngest has really sore nappy rash from every wipe brand we've tried leading to us spending a small fortune on sudocream and other such products. Since using cloth wipes its been a miracle for his bum as its no longer red and sore. I love how usually 1 wipe does the job whereas you need to use some 5-6 packet wipes and we were going through them pack after pack with 2 boys! So bottom line buy them we wouldn't go back now having changed across.

Never looked back!!
Friday, 31 August 2018  |  Becky

I bought these around 18 months ago and they still look like new. I originally ran on night pads and liners which was fine. These cope with 'flooding' amazingly well, I have never had a leak. They haven't stained and they are not gross at all. I was sceptical to read that period pain can be reduced by switching from disposables but its true. My flow is a little lighter and doesn't last as long. I just chuck them in with the washing or with the nappies. I now have a few day pads for the last day, purely because they looked pretty and I'm slightly addicted. They are so soft and don't move around in my underwear even thought they're a shiney material. I use the liners every day just chucking them in the normal wash and they are still like new. Granted they're slightly more grey than white on top but I can deal with that. These are by far some of the cheapest CSP out there. I have tried slightly cheaper but these are made so much better. The quality is untouchable.

I 🖤 period pants
Friday, 31 August 2018  |  Bess

Where have period pants been my whole life? How have I ever survived without them? Oh yes, know, by worrying about leakage, the worldís environment and my internal environment. Not any more thanks to these beauties. There was no leakage, theyíre kind to the environment and kind to me too. Just one thing Iíd like, and thatís a few different colours please, including nude. Thanks 😊.

Feeling at peace with reusable wipes!
Thursday, 30 August 2018  |  Alice

I have been feeling guilty. I'm on my second child and adding to landfill like there's no tomorrow. My husband would use baby wipes to clean the child... car... floor... but I just did not like the idea of poo covered wipes being reusable. However, after finding cheeky wipes via instagram, reading reviews and watching videos I thought why not, it doesn't seem that difficult to reduce m! And it's not! I got the all in one kit, rainbow wipes (so I couldn't see the poo) with extra microfiber ones for the dinner table. Filled up the boxes with a bit of help from videos to work out where to fill the water to and which oils to use where (tea tree is the mucky one if you can't guess) and I was away! Absolutely brilliant, it's true that I've only used one wipe per dirty nappy and it's actually now quite a calming activity with the smell of lavender and chamomile. The panic I had over dealing with soiled fabric is not an issue - they just get popped in the mucky box and then easily into the washing machine using the bag. I've taken them out and about with no issue and have introduced them to my little one's nursery. One microfibre wipe has taken over from multiples of baby wipes at the dinner table and I'm so pleased I switched. Who knows, if there's a third child I might even think about reusable nappies.

Really surprised!!
Thursday, 23 August 2018  |  Carly

I purchased the all in one re usable baby wipes kit as I had seen it advertised on facebook. I've always used baby wipes for convenience, but sometimes i feel that I should be doing more for the environment so I took the plunge and bought washable ones. I was a little unsure at first. The kit takes moments to set up and then it is ready to use. Strangely , I couldn't wait for my son to have a poo so I could really test them out!. Well i didnt have to wait long. It only took one wipe to thoroughly clean a poo explosion!. I couldn't believe it. Even my husband was surprised. I've had the wipe kit for nearly 2 weeks now and I won't be going back to disposables. I've washed them and they have come out lovely. I change the water in the fresh tub every 2 days to freshen them up and wash the mucky ones in dettol laundry cleanser on a 30 or 60 wash. I even took them out on a trip for the first time and the travel bags are so easy to use. My little one is always lovely and clean. I will be recommending to them to everyone and will be buying more re usable products from cheeky wipes in the future!

So much easier than disposable wipes
Thursday, 23 August 2018  |  Sarah

Even my husband (who is all about convenience) was totally sold on using these wipes after just one use of them. So much easier than messing about trying to get disposable wipes out of their packet. Plus you only like need to use 1 or 2 per dirty nappy (when you would normally need 5 or 6 wipes).

Surprisingly not gross
Monday, 30 July 2018  |  Fiona

The idea of reusable loo roll was a bit of an uneasy decision, but I wanted to try it. Iíve seen sewage treatment plants and blocked drains frequently through my job, so could certainly see the positives of making such a change.
I have to say that I love it. Itís a much cleaner feeling than traditional loo roll, and the bag system is great inside the mucky box. I have invested in some laundry sanitiser to kill any bacteria that will be growing in the box. This has addressed all of my concerns, and I actually dislike having to use normal toilet paper when Iím out now. Thank you for helping me with this change - I love it! I do have to say that I havenít felt confident to tell anyone yet though - Iím not sure a lot of people would be ready to accept such a change...

Best Pants EVER!!!
Sunday, 29 July 2018  |  Olivia

I got these as I love the cloth pads Cheeky Wipes do. They are so comfortable and do not leak at all even on a heavy day. Iím not a small girl definitely bigger than a 16 and the 16/18 fitted me nicely. I wish Iíd bought more. So nice to not have to technically wear anything at that time. They arenít very thick at all but are so absorbent like magic. I would say only slightly thicker than your average cotton pants. Thinner than regular pads or cloth pads. Iíll definitely be stocking up.
