Cheeky Mama Ultrapad Cloth Sanitary Kits from Cheeky Wipes

Our Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pad Ultrapad full kits contain:

Optional: Add some reusable intimate wipes or a double wetbag to keep your clean and dirty pads and wipes in or for using out and about

Care Instructions:  Cold wash only, line dry, reshape whilst damp. Warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.

What's the difference between these and the bamboo minky pads?  The ultrapads are made of cotton which is a natural material rather than minky which is manmade.  As such it tends to be cooler to wear.  They are also thinner, so if you prefer a thinner more discreet pad or if you're buying for a teenager, these are perfect for you.  They are also less likely to move around as the cotton fabric will stay in place better.  The downside of being thinner is that they are less absorbent, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky instead.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill! Really comfy
Sunday, 21 October 2018  |

I'm using these for mild incontinence leaks. I've never really got on with disposables (make me itchy) so I have been continuing to use the reusable pads I used pre menopause. However, they've had up to 20 years of periodic (excuse the pun 😉 use and while they've saved load of money in that time, they have seen better days, so I decided its time to replace them.
The cheeky Mama ultra pads are really comfy and so far they wash well and don't take too long to dry. I can't comment on the performance when Auntie Flo visits, but as leak protection they are perfect. I'll be topping up with more at some point, just waiting for some different prints to become available.
I'd say that the liner size is suitable as a replacement for the big brand T**a lady disposables slim liners. The normal day pad can replace the slightly thicker normal range of pads, and I would imagine that the night ones would be suitable for bigger leaks and overnight if needed.
Very well made and soft and comfy to wear.

Comfortable & airy

I find these much nicer on my skin compared to single use pads, which gave me rashes. I think I still need to buy some more elastic pants to keep them secure as they sometimes slip a little. However I managed to run to a cardiac arrest call & the pad was still in place, so there's your review!
The advice & guidance provided is really helpful in wearing them & looking after them, The dirty box is useful & the essential oil keeps things smelling nice.

I'm a convert
Monday, 16 October 2017  |

I'll admit to being sceptical about cloth pads, but after years of irritation and painful rashes caused by disposables I decided to give them a go. I went for the full kit as it gave me a mixture of pads, some cotton, some minky and with different lengths and so far I'm very impressed. No leaks at all and they're so comfortable. I don't even know I have them on! The free wipes that came with the pads are lovely and soft and the mucky box is great for discretely soaking used pads. I would definitely recommend and will be buying again.

If only I'd made the change years ago!

I discovered your website first for reusable baby wipes. Having been very pleased with those I decided to try your cloth sanitary pads and only wish I'd discovered them sooner. So much more comfortable than a disposable pad as even when flow is heavy the cloth pad absorbs it unlike a disposable pad where it sits on the top making you feel damp and uncomfortable. Worn with tight pants and you don't even notice they're there and discreet to change in the toilet as there is no sticky backing holding it in place which can make removing disposables noisy, plus that makes them kinder to your underwear as well!

I have had a good experience with this kit. The range of sizes covers everything, and the pads themselves are great. I can recommend them.

Sturdy, great design

The boxes are well made and sturdy. Like the colour coding of the kits with the essential oils. Ordered the pink box as a variation for reusable sanitary products. Love the design feature of the hooks with the net so you donít need to get your hands in the soaking solution.

Great first impressions

I have wanted to try non disposables for a long time to cut the amount of throwaway plastic I am using. I have used these for the first time and am really pleasantly surprised...they are beautifully soft and they clean up really well with no staining so far (I purchased a mucky box to soak them in before washing) They do move about slightly but will try tighter fitting underwear as suggested in other reviews...no leakages so far as theyíre super absorbent. Will definitely try the thinner cotton ones for towards the end of my period.

Chuck away your Tena lights!

As someone who wears a "just in case" incontinence pad, I was getting really tired of buying pads, wearing them and putting them into landfill, especially when 99% of the time I hadn't needed to wear one anyway.
I bought some of these initially to wear around the house, at least I thought I will be reducing the amount I use. Now I wear them everywhere!

I ordered three pairs and I'm going back for more...... I suffer with mehorragia and it usually looks like a horror movie even with two maternity pads but these little beauts kept everything in overnight no stress!
Definitely buying more.
My only criticisism is that they sit quite low..... I'd like them to come up slightly higher for all out Bridget Jones comfort!

A great way to reduce your plastic use.

I tried washable sanitary pads 15 years ago but found they just didnít keep me dry. These Cheekywipes pads are a whole different thing! I bought two to try and now Iíve ordered another ten; I wonít be going back to disposable pads. Theyíre comfortable, absorbent and donít slide around (as long as you follow the advice about the nap on the back). Highly recommended x

Loving it

Iíve only had these wipes for a week but as a busy childminder they have impacted well in my setting. As you can imagine lots of runny noses and bum changes needed attending to and I love the feel and smell of these. Iíve also asked the children and they prefer them too. Much nicer than wet wipes. Iíve even used them to wipe down hard surfaces in the kitchen. Iíll definitely be carrying on.

Fantastic value

I have tried cloth pads on and off over the years and never really took to them. I mostly use a cup but sometimes like the security of having a pad too. These are so comfortable and stay in place really well (but snug fitting pants are a must!). I think they are terrific value and my order came super fast.

Great product!

We have been pleasantly surprised by how easy the switch has been and like that you can still use them out and about with the travel bags. You do need to be pretty disciplined and organised with keeping supplies fresh and would definitely suggest a second pack of wipes so you have plenty for wash rotation. We wash them on a 60 degree wash so they are totally clean and have no issue then using bum wipes for hands and face. Although there is the option to have white ones for hands and face and colours for the bum, comes down to personal preference, but they genuinely clean and fresh. We really started looking at this option because my youngest has really sore nappy rash from every wipe brand we've tried leading to us spending a small fortune on sudocream and other such products. Since using cloth wipes its been a miracle for his bum as its no longer red and sore. I love how usually 1 wipe does the job whereas you need to use some 5-6 packet wipes and we were going through them pack after pack with 2 boys! So bottom line buy them we wouldn't go back now having changed across.

Never looked back!!
Friday, 31 August 2018  |  Becky

I bought these around 18 months ago and they still look like new. I originally ran on night pads and liners which was fine. These cope with 'flooding' amazingly well, I have never had a leak. They haven't stained and they are not gross at all. I was sceptical to read that period pain can be reduced by switching from disposables but its true. My flow is a little lighter and doesn't last as long. I just chuck them in with the washing or with the nappies. I now have a few day pads for the last day, purely because they looked pretty and I'm slightly addicted. They are so soft and don't move around in my underwear even thought they're a shiney material. I use the liners every day just chucking them in the normal wash and they are still like new. Granted they're slightly more grey than white on top but I can deal with that. These are by far some of the cheapest CSP out there. I have tried slightly cheaper but these are made so much better. The quality is untouchable.
