Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pad Multipack from Cheeky Wipes.  Choose from packs of 5 or 10

What's the difference between these and the bamboo minky pads? The ultrapads are made of cotton which is a natural material rather than minky which is manmade. As such it tends to be cooler to wear. They are also thinner, so if you prefer a thinner more discreet pad or if you're buying for a teenager, these are perfect for you. They are also less likely to move around as the cotton fabric will stay in place better. The downside of being thinner is that they are less absorbent, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky instead.

Optional: Add some reusable intimate wipes or a double wetbag to keep your clean and dirty pads and wipes in or for using out and about

Mixed use packs contain the following - 5 pack has 1 liner, 3 day pads, 1 night pad. 10 pack has 2 liners, 6 day pads, 2 night pads.

Minky pad packs contain 5 pads in different colours, cotton & organic cotton pad kits all pads will be the same design.

Care Instructions:  Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.  Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!

The Cheeky Mama pads measure 24cm x 7cm (main pad without wings) and have poppers allowing them to close underneath the gusset of your pants, which allows them to fold in on themselves for discreet carrying.

There are four layers, making them very absorbent without being at all bulky. Really!

  • Outside Waterproof Minkee PUL
  • Middle 2 layers microfibre
  • Top Layer bamboo

Why not add some of our reusable intimate wipes to your order and / or a wetbag for carrying clean and dirty pads / wipes? You can also buy the pads in packs of 5 or 10 , alternatively take a look at our Cheeky Mama Sanitary Pad kits and SAVE money!

Very Disappointed
Thursday, 30 May 2019  |

I had been looking for reusable pads for a long time and after reading all the great reviews here, I decided to give Cheeky Wipes pads a go (I LOVE Cheeky Wipes make up removing pads!!). I was very hopeful and then equally disappointed - the thickness of the pads and the little 'button' make them (for me) impossible to wear during the day - they are visible under skinny jeans and you can feel the 'button' when sitting down. Also, blood stains don't wash out completely which I find very off-putting. (I even tried throwing them in 90'C wash!)
In conclusion, I would buy them in dark colours (so the stains aren't as obvious) and wear them during the night only.
I hope this helps.

Response:

Hi Lucie,
I'm sorry you're disappointed in the wipes. I personally don't find that they show through at all (I blogged about it here: https://www.cheekywipes.com/blog/cloth-sanitary-pads-thin-discreet-not-like-nappies.html).
Also, I find that they don't tend to stain, however it sounds as if you were maybe washing on too high a temperature, anything above 30c will effectively 'set' a blood stain, so we recommend cold water washing.

Even better than expected!

I had expected to use these alongside other products - but they are even better than expected and I’ve been plastic free this month. Easy to use, comfortable and surprisingly discrete.

Lovely and soft
Saturday, 4 May 2019  |

I bought these to supplement my very mixed set of cloth sanitary pads. They did not disappoint, very soft and comfy to wear and washed really well - I was worried they would stain easily be7ng cream but came out lovely. My only reason for 4 stars is that they are much th8nner than I expected so I won’t wear them on my very heavy days but that’s ok as I have some great minky pads for those days 🙂

Brilliant & eco friendly!

I bought these because I wear a sanitary cup and I was wanting to stop buying reusable liners for security when wearing the cup! They’re brilliant and I would trust to wear them without my cup too!

With the multitude of options for reusable sanitary towels I went with cheeky wipes due to them being UK based, lovely designs and the 'family business' approach. I am very happy with my decision!
My enquiries were answered quickly and helpfully by a friendly, genuine person.
The pads themselves are very comfortable and absorbant.
If you have a heavy flow you can certainly run through but if you change every few hours it shouldn't happen.
So much more comfortable than any disposables I've used (including organic cotton). I bought the cotton fabric and the bamboo minky to see how they compared.. I was worried the minky may be slight sweaty but not at all. The terry bamboo is so soft and very absorbant. I will definitely be recommending to friends + family!

So easy to make the switch!
Monday, 15 July 2019  |  Rachel

I am so glad I got the full kit with a mix of cotton and minkey style pads, it gave me a chance to experiment with the different options and decide which worked best for me. It also made moving over to reusables so easy as I had everything I needed on hand to get going, At the same time I also purchased a double wet bag and a 3 pack of period pants. Having only used these items for one period so far, I did still have to use a disposable pad because I hadn't factored in the washing and drying time, but I'll know better next time. So far, I have washed on a separate cold wash and they've all come up perfectly clean and ready to go again. The t-tree drops to go in the mucky box is a nice touch and helps keep everything fresh smelling between washes. My only struggle with the move to reusable sanitary products was being able to find somewhere discrete to rinse pads when not at home, when I wasn’t able to do this I dropped the pad in my travel bag anyway and made sure to give it a really good soak, and some stain remover, as soon as possible and they’ve been fine.

Life changing!
Thursday, 20 June 2019  |  Charlotte

Well, I'm never going back to single use menstrual products. Ever. I bought these in a size 6-8 (I'm a really borderline 8-10) and although they said 4-6 on the underwear when they arrived, they fit perfectly - so definirely follow the advice and go a size down.
They do feel like bikini bottoms, but that's fine! They're not heavy in anyway, and in absolutely no way are they detectable under gym clothes, let alone jeans.

Leaks?! What leaks? I put these to the ultimate test: I wore one pair, without taking any spare, to work on my heaviest day. This meant I wore the pair from 6am until I got home and showered that night at 8.30pm. On my heaviest day. Absolutely no smell, absolutely no leak. Yes, by about 6.45pm they felt abit wet, but not really uncomfortable, I was just aware they needed changing. But I'd already gone over the recommended 12 hours by then anyway!

One thing i would say is don't wash these on a cold wash - I washed them separately in a cold wash halfway through my cycle (I didnt buy enough to cover my whole week as I was meant to be a test) and they did stain. When I put them through with the rest of y2k washing on a 30c wash, they came out good as new. But like others have said, they do take a while to dry. Not a problem in the summer, but as they don't tumble dry, you'd need a full set to get you through the week in the winter as they do take a couple days to air dry.

All in all, I recommend them to anyone who will listen! Comfortable, cheaper than competitors, do exactly what they promise to, and no more menstrual products going to landfill! Result!

I bought these for my daughter who is 13 and was finding pads awful and tampons impossible. She lives them! No leaks, no slipping or sticking or discomfort. Definitely follow the advice to size down. She's a 6-8 and the 4-6 fit perfectly. They wash well and dry fairly quickly. I'll definitely be buying here some more so that I don't have to be quite so on it with the wash cycle.

Great product, great price. The advice to size down is good. I'm a 16-18 usually but bought the 14-16 which fit perfectly. My periods are not mega heavy but I found I wanted to change them in the middle of the first day. After that one pair at night and one in the day worked fine. I only bought three pairs to try but I'll be buying more so I don't have to be quite so on top of the wash cycle. Best of all, I haven't thrown anything away. I will be recommending them to everyone I know!

These pants are so comfortable, absorbent and practical. I was nervous at first but needn’t have been. I even did a half marathon in them! For a medium flow there was no leaking and any days I wanted a little reassurance I used the cheeky wipes ultrapad cotton cloth sanitary pads instead.
My skin is grateful and the planet too.
Only heads up would be that the absorbent layers run all the way down the back of the pants to the gusset so if you are a ‘front bleeder’ it potentially could stop a little short for you.

Love them, changed my period!
Tuesday, 21 May 2019  |  Sara

I Love them! Felt so safe wearing them the days, and especially nights leading up-to my period (especially as it came early!), and even more so during the first few days. I had them backing up a pad at first, which was great as I tend to have spillover at sides. Then at the end I only used them. I prefer these lace top ones to the Sport style as it covers more and a full absorbency layer.

The quality is excellent. I did not leak, and they are comfortable and don’t feel wet. When I felt them the gusset being cold, I changed them for a fresh pair.

They have changed my experience of having my period hugely!

For product development, I'd love a high waist version

Thank you Cheeky Wipes!

Absorbs a LOT and no chafing!
Tuesday, 21 May 2019  |  Sara

I bought the 5-pack BAMBOO  Blue Dragonfly,  Day Pad and Night Pad, (5 each). I have used them once.

For disposable, I go through 10 ultra night pads, an 12 day pads during my 5 day period, although not always, even then I have had issues of leakage.

However, for my whole period this time I used 2 (!) night pads, 2 day pads, backed up with period pants and the last two days only had the period pants. Although I stayed home most of these days and as such could run to the loo if I felt the "gushing", this is way beyond my expectations!

Instead of going through packets of disposables, I used 2 night pads, 2 day pads, 3 lace and 3 sport pants. I am very much impressed!

These pretty. Reusable pads are gentle but strong and when used with coconut oil quickly make your make up melt away .They are easy. To wash and make you wonder why you have ever used anything disposable on your face. My daughter says they are like little clouds to clean your face !

Great pads and more absorbent than expected
Thursday, 16 May 2019  |  Sarah

I'm a new convert to washable pads and have found these day pads great. Easy to rinse out with cold water, soak in the mucky box with a few drops of oil then machine wash on 30. No stains at all. Brilliant!
