Help! How do I dispose of my reusable baby wipes kit?

But your babies aren't babies any more and don't need even need their hands & faces wiping at mealtimes.

What can you do with your reusable baby wipes kit when you've finished with baby bum wiping?

1. Use Reusable wipes instead of loo roll

4. Sell your second hand reusable wipes kit 

There's a cracking market for reselling your used wipes kits too.  Whether you use a selling platform like Ebay, or Gumtree or list via Facebook Marketplace, there are always people looking to buy used wipes kits at a reduced price.  

It's great to think that although you do spend upfront in buying your wipes kit, you'll be able to recoup possibly half of that cost when you resell your kit after using it.

5. Donate your cloth wipes kit to charity

The UK Nappy Network is a network of cloth nappy libraries are always looking out for good condition wipes kits that they can lend to local people. 

This works either on a short term basis until clients buy their own,  or as long term lets to families who are struggling financially.

They've got a fantastic interactive map online where you can see the nearest nappy library to you, donate your used wipes kit and also get that feel good factor from knowing you're helping others make more sustainable choices too. 

6. Recycle your reusable wipes and wipes kits

If you've gone through all those options, or perhaps your kit has been damaged in some way,  the good news is that the elements of the kit can be recycled.

The wipes boxes themselves are Polypropylene with a recycling code of 5.

If your local authority mentions any of the following in their recycling, then this plastic can be recycled:

• Plastic Straws
• Take away tubs
• Ketchup bottles
• Plastic picnic ware
• Plastic bags

The cloth wipes themselves can be used until they are threadbare.  Once they're past this stage, they can be recycled in any fabric / clothing recycling collection point.
