What is BPA?

*Bisphenol A or BPA, is a chemical used to make plastics including materials that come into contact with food such as refillable drinks bottles and food storage containers. It's also used to make protective coatings and linings for food and drinks cans.
Minute amounts of BPA can transfer from packaging into food and drinks, but independent experts have advised that these levels of exposure are not considered to be harmful. Independent studies have shown that, even when consumed at high levels, BPA is rapidly absorbed, detoxified, and eliminated from humans.

The levels of BPA found in food from food contact materials are not a concern to health.  However, BPA is one of a large number of substances that have the potential to interact with our hormone systems, and some people claim that this means it is an 'endocrine disruptor' and that it could have effects at very low doses that are not seen at higher doses.   In recent years, many environmental groups have expressed concerns that the BPA contained in baby feeding bottles could ‘leach’ or leak out into a baby’s milk from the plastic when heated under certain conditions, or when bottles were cracked or scratched. This, they claimed, could result in health concerns for babies and children.

Obviously we want to do the best by our parents and babies. Our BPA free containers mean you will know for sure that NO BPA could potentially leach from your wipes container onto your wipes and therefore transferred to your babies skin!

Great design

The design to hang the mesh bag inside the box to soak everything is brilliant. I like the whole design and will be sticking with it. Really great system

A really handy box
Thursday, 28 June 2018  |

This was brillant for soaking my dirty pads. The mesh bag which I ordered hooks to the inside of the bag, so you can just throw the dirty stuff in there with cold water and some tea tree oil if you like and leave them to soak until you have enough to wash. Then you can simply just pull the drawstring on the mesh bag and throw in the wash without having to really handle the dirty pads.

Bigger than expected, perfect for the job!
Thursday, 24 May 2018  |

I love the mucky box, it was a bit bigger than I expected (like others, did not think to check dimensions!) and I love the hooks for the bag which makes it incredibly simple to grab the mucky stuff and chuck it in the wash!

A great system
Friday, 13 April 2018  |

This is such a simple system that I canít believe I didnít have before now. Weíve been using cheeky wipes (purchased on amazon) for the last couple of years but I had no idea about the boxes until I saw them at a friendís house. Our wipes had been getting stained and sat damp in bathrooms and the kitchen. The fresh and mucky boxes mean they always smell lovely and no more stains! They take up a little bit of room in the kitchen but itís so easy now to take the mesh bag out of the mucky box and throw it straight into the washing machine a couple of times a week. Keeps them all together and. I more damp cloths hanging around. Now I have two small children I couldnít be without this system around the house.

Good design
Thursday, 1 March 2018  |

I wasnít sure if I need the dedicated boxes for my wipes but have it a go, and I definitely recommend the mucky box. I was initially surprised at the size (large than I was expecting, no I hadnít read the dimensions!) but the little hooks in the corners for the mesh wash bag to sit in make this a good design. the design of the mesh bag mean that is easy to soak wipes, then close the draw string on the mesh bag and put it all in the wash. I had expected the box to be complete leak proof when accidentally tipped, but although some water came out it wasnít masses and no harm done.

Not just any plastic box
Sunday, 4 February 2018  |

So, I though, what so special about a plastic box for it to cost eleven and a half quid? I'll make a list:
Robust plastic
Big printing clearly marks it as the Mucky box
Squidgy seal when box is clipped shut preventing spills and smells
Corner clips secure mesh bag
Fan bright colour
£1.50 off the price of mesh bag when ordered together.

Theyíre so big! Itís great - 100% recommend. Only need one per night to do everything, so not a huge amount of extra laundry! Win win!

Surprisingly not gross
Monday, 30 July 2018  |  Fiona

The idea of reusable loo roll was a bit of an uneasy decision, but I wanted to try it. Iíve seen sewage treatment plants and blocked drains frequently through my job, so could certainly see the positives of making such a change.
I have to say that I love it. Itís a much cleaner feeling than traditional loo roll, and the bag system is great inside the mucky box. I have invested in some laundry sanitiser to kill any bacteria that will be growing in the box. This has addressed all of my concerns, and I actually dislike having to use normal toilet paper when Iím out now. Thank you for helping me with this change - I love it! I do have to say that I havenít felt confident to tell anyone yet though - Iím not sure a lot of people would be ready to accept such a change...

Best Pants EVER!!!
Sunday, 29 July 2018  |  Olivia

I got these as I love the cloth pads Cheeky Wipes do. They are so comfortable and do not leak at all even on a heavy day. Iím not a small girl definitely bigger than a 16 and the 16/18 fitted me nicely. I wish Iíd bought more. So nice to not have to technically wear anything at that time. They arenít very thick at all but are so absorbent like magic. I would say only slightly thicker than your average cotton pants. Thinner than regular pads or cloth pads. Iíll definitely be stocking up.

The All-In-One kit is fabulous!
Tuesday, 24 July 2018  |  Jessica

The all-in-one kit contains everything needed, 25 wipes is plenty for a few days - I use half of them while the other half are in the wash. The oil for the mucky box smells lovely and it only takes two or occasionally three wipes to deal with the worst poosplosion, compared to 6-8 disposables. The little bags for out and about are a really useful addition and overall the system works really, really surprisingly well. Iím never going back! We do still keep a pack of disposable wipes in the changing bag but I donít like to use them, theyíre rubbish in comparison. I just throw the mucky wipes in the wash whenever I have a baby load on anyway. Iíve just started to see some stains on some of the clean wipes after three weeks of intensive use, but a quick bleach soak sorted that out and theyíre as good as new. Just donít wash them with unfastened Velcro bibs... absolute carnage for the poor wipes!

Cheeky wipes removal kit
Sunday, 22 July 2018  |  Samantha

I was sceptical on how effective this product would be... I have used facial wipes forever but was conscious of the environmental and chemical impact. I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the product is and how natural the concept is. Well done, I'm converted. There's not even a tiny residue of mascara left the following morning! My eyes feel so soothed also!

Very happy

Functionality:

These pads are great - at my heaviest overnight bleeding the pad will fill, but have never leaked during a period. It feels safe knowing I won't wake up needing to hop straight in the shower!

I originally got these for postpartum bleeding and they were the perfect absorbancy. Didn't leak once bar two tiny spots on the bedsheets. Wearing them overnight they were soaked by the morning but still working. I gave birth at 29 weeks though, so I don't know if that affects how heavy the flow is.

Rinsing them out in cold water just after a change I've found is the best way to go - they wash white and end up softer that way. Had a busy day one day and didn't rinse one or 2 out, put them straight in a wet bag - they have stained to a yellowy brown, but still work the same.

Comfort

I've been wearing these during the day too on heavier periods just in case and I find they rarely move around and are far more comfortable than their disposable cousins. I forget I'm wearing these a lot of the time

Iíve only been using these a short time but find them a great alternative to cotton wool pads. I use them with my own regular products and they do a fab job. Once used, I pop them into a netting bag to sling them all in the wash together. I donít yet know how these wipes stand up to regular washing, but so far they wash up well and Iím very happy with my purchase!

Fab
Monday, 25 June 2018  |  Jennifer

Fab, and generous on sizing, so I should have opted for smaller. I ordered size 12.
Didn't leak, even when I made a massive mistake in the night and put my washable pad in the wrong way up! (Facepalm)
Lovely and soft, and don't rustle, and look like period pants. Not overly restrictive like some of the other ones out there. ( I have tried a few!)
Fab. Different colours would be great.

Wish I'd tried these sooner
Tuesday, 22 May 2018  |  Helen

I decided not to use my moon cup this month, so I could give the cloth sani pads a proper try out, and I was so impressed I really wish I'd given them a go sooner!

I realised pretty quickly, that if I put the pads in with the nap (the direction of the fuzz on the velour) laying so the smooth goes backwards, they do wriggle back a bit and I ended up getting leaks at the front; but once I'd figured that I've out and started putting them in the other way around, so the smooth direction was going forwards, I had no problems at all.

They were significantly less gross than I was expecting, especially given how moon cups can leave you looking like you've been sacrificing small rodents to Mother Nature! They are surprisingly absorbent, and I actually found I had less period pain or other PMS symptoms than usual. Cleaning them was a breeze, and for the first time ever I am actually slightly looking forward to my next visit from the period fairy, so I can use them again! Full marks, Cheeky Wipes!!
