Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads from Cheeky Wipes - for light flow

Size:        19cm x 7cm (approx.) suitable for light days of your period or mild incontinence

Bamboo / Minky:  Leakproof Minkee outer, one layer microfibre, inner layer bamboo charcoal microfleece or bamboo terry

What's the difference between these and the cotton pads? The bamboo minky pads are made of bamboo viscose or charcoal microfleece with a minky outer, being manmade materials, these tend to be a little warmer to wear than the cotton pads. The bamboo minky pads are also slightly thicker and therefore more absorbent than cotton pads, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky rather than the cotton.

Please note that this listing is for a SINGLE pad, multipacks are available separately.

Care Instructions:  Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.  Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!

Why not add some of our reusable intimate wipes to your order and / or a wetbag for carrying clean and dirty pads / wipes? You can also buy the pads in packs of 5 or 10 , alternatively take a look at our Cheeky Mama Sanitary Pad kits and SAVE money!

Love these ...
Friday, 28 June 2019  |

Initially I bought the Cotton Cloth Ultrapads and I was so disappointed with them, they just didnít suit me. I hated the fabric and the shape of them. But Iíd washed them, as per instructions and tried one so couldnít return them and Iíd bought ten liners & ten day pads. However, I really wanted to get along with these so I tried the bamboo & minky ones, only buying five to start with, and this time I wasnít disappointed. The bamboo & minky ones, well I love love love them, especially the butterfly pattern, will definitely buy more levels f these, Iíve already ordered more liners today and will buy more soon.

Brilliant cloth pads
Monday, 27 May 2019  |

These cloth pads are brilliant. Super soft, so comfy (I forget that Iím wearing them!!), and they do their job brilliantly.
No more chemicals/bleach touching my delicate lady area, and no more plastic going to landfill!
Really easy to care for, and they still look and feel as good as new after many uses.
Highly recommend.
Customer services are also great if you need to contact them (one pad was sent in the wrong print to what Iíd ordered - they sent a replacement AND let me keep the other one anyway!)
Canít recommend Cheeky Wipes highly enough!

Lovely product

I love my new reusable panty liners! They are good quality, well made liners that will last for years. With the added bonus of making both me and mother earth feel good about less waste. I've knocked a star off because it took longer than expected to dispatch my order, so much so I was on the verge of contacting Cheeky Wipes thinking they had forgotten aboute.

Excellent liners
Thursday, 16 May 2019  |

I've been thinking for a while I need to stop using disposable pads and liners and found these comfortable, easy to clean with a cold water rinse through, soak in the mucky box with a few drops of oil, then machine wash. They've come up really clean. I'm also so pleased with putting no period related rubbish in the bin.

Iím finding these great so far. They are very comfortable to wear. I find the liner can slip back on my underwear though if Iím walking etc but I would still repurchase the product.

I wish I had found out about these washable pads and period pants sooner. I used the washable pads in the day and the period pants at night. They are so much more comfortable than disposable pads, they don't give you that plasticky, sweaty feeling. They feel so much drier and they don't smell as bad either.. It was so nice not having to wear a pad in bed. My period felt altogether less stressfull. Thank you

Enough to last me now!
Sunday, 27 January 2019  |

I ordered these to finish my stash so I am covered for a whole length of a period in case I don't have chance to wash them! I went for the charcoal pads as I feel these actually wash better than the bamboo. I was sceptical when I first tried them as they're literally fleece fabric and I didn't think they'd be anywhere near absorbent enough, but I was totally wrong! Even from new, without washing they were absorbent (needs must this time!) One thing I do regret however...I wish i had ordered a different pattern for the 2 different types of pads I ordered! The day pads and panty liners are quite similar size and thickness so unless you compare them side by side it's hard to tell which one is which! Doh!

They are so comfy. As for slipping, as long as you use tighter fitting underwear, they will be fine. This company is so friendly and helpful, can't rate them enough!

I find these pads are incredibly absorbent but unfortunately move around/ spin upside down rather a lot. I found I don't have this problem with the organic cotton ones which are a different shape.

So easy to make the switch!
Monday, 15 July 2019  |  Rachel

I am so glad I got the full kit with a mix of cotton and minkey style pads, it gave me a chance to experiment with the different options and decide which worked best for me. It also made moving over to reusables so easy as I had everything I needed on hand to get going, At the same time I also purchased a double wet bag and a 3 pack of period pants. Having only used these items for one period so far, I did still have to use a disposable pad because I hadn't factored in the washing and drying time, but I'll know better next time. So far, I have washed on a separate cold wash and they've all come up perfectly clean and ready to go again. The t-tree drops to go in the mucky box is a nice touch and helps keep everything fresh smelling between washes. My only struggle with the move to reusable sanitary products was being able to find somewhere discrete to rinse pads when not at home, when I wasnít able to do this I dropped the pad in my travel bag anyway and made sure to give it a really good soak, and some stain remover, as soon as possible and theyíve been fine.

Life changing!
Thursday, 20 June 2019  |  Charlotte

Well, I'm never going back to single use menstrual products. Ever. I bought these in a size 6-8 (I'm a really borderline 8-10) and although they said 4-6 on the underwear when they arrived, they fit perfectly - so definirely follow the advice and go a size down.
They do feel like bikini bottoms, but that's fine! They're not heavy in anyway, and in absolutely no way are they detectable under gym clothes, let alone jeans.

Leaks?! What leaks? I put these to the ultimate test: I wore one pair, without taking any spare, to work on my heaviest day. This meant I wore the pair from 6am until I got home and showered that night at 8.30pm. On my heaviest day. Absolutely no smell, absolutely no leak. Yes, by about 6.45pm they felt abit wet, but not really uncomfortable, I was just aware they needed changing. But I'd already gone over the recommended 12 hours by then anyway!

One thing i would say is don't wash these on a cold wash - I washed them separately in a cold wash halfway through my cycle (I didnt buy enough to cover my whole week as I was meant to be a test) and they did stain. When I put them through with the rest of y2k washing on a 30c wash, they came out good as new. But like others have said, they do take a while to dry. Not a problem in the summer, but as they don't tumble dry, you'd need a full set to get you through the week in the winter as they do take a couple days to air dry.

All in all, I recommend them to anyone who will listen! Comfortable, cheaper than competitors, do exactly what they promise to, and no more menstrual products going to landfill! Result!

Great product

I bought these for my daughter who is 13 and was finding pads awful and tampons impossible. She lives them! No leaks, no slipping or sticking or discomfort. Definitely follow the advice to size down. She's a 6-8 and the 4-6 fit perfectly. They wash well and dry fairly quickly. I'll definitely be buying here some more so that I don't have to be quite so on it with the wash cycle.

Great product, great price. The advice to size down is good. I'm a 16-18 usually but bought the 14-16 which fit perfectly. My periods are not mega heavy but I found I wanted to change them in the middle of the first day. After that one pair at night and one in the day worked fine. I only bought three pairs to try but I'll be buying more so I don't have to be quite so on top of the wash cycle. Best of all, I haven't thrown anything away. I will be recommending them to everyone I know!

These pants are so comfortable, absorbent and practical. I was nervous at first but neednít have been. I even did a half marathon in them! For a medium flow there was no leaking and any days I wanted a little reassurance I used the cheeky wipes ultrapad cotton cloth sanitary pads instead.
My skin is grateful and the planet too.
Only heads up would be that the absorbent layers run all the way down the back of the pants to the gusset so if you are a Ďfront bleederí it potentially could stop a little short for you.

Love them, changed my period!
Tuesday, 21 May 2019  |  Sara

I Love them! Felt so safe wearing them the days, and especially nights leading up-to my period (especially as it came early!), and even more so during the first few days. I had them backing up a pad at first, which was great as I tend to have spillover at sides. Then at the end I only used them. I prefer these lace top ones to the Sport style as it covers more and a full absorbency layer.

The quality is excellent. I did not leak, and they are comfortable and donít feel wet. When I felt them the gusset being cold, I changed them for a fresh pair.

They have changed my experience of having my period hugely!

For product development, I'd love a high waist version

Thank you Cheeky Wipes!

Absorbs a LOT and no chafing!
Tuesday, 21 May 2019  |  Sara

I bought the 5-pack BAMBOO †Blue Dragonfly,† Day Pad and Night Pad, (5 each). I have used them once.

For disposable, I go through 10 ultra night pads, an 12 day pads during my 5 day period, although not always, even then I have had issues of leakage.

However, for my whole period this time I used 2 (!) night pads, 2 day pads, backed up with period pants and the last two days only had the period pants. Although I stayed home most of these days and as such could run to the loo if I felt the "gushing", this is way beyond my expectations!

Instead of going through packets of disposables, I used 2 night pads, 2 day pads, 3 lace and 3 sport pants. I am very much impressed!

Beautifully little clouds to clean your face

These pretty. Reusable pads are gentle but strong and when used with coconut oil quickly make your make up melt away .They are easy. To wash and make you wonder why you have ever used anything disposable on your face. My daughter says they are like little clouds to clean your face !

Great pads and more absorbent than expected
Thursday, 16 May 2019  |  Sarah

I'm a new convert to washable pads and have found these day pads great. Easy to rinse out with cold water, soak in the mucky box with a few drops of oil then machine wash on 30. No stains at all. Brilliant!
