Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads from Cheeky Wipes - for light flow

Size:        19cm x 7cm (approx.) suitable for light days of your period or mild incontinence

Bamboo / Minky:  Leakproof Minkee outer, one layer microfibre, inner layer bamboo charcoal microfleece or bamboo terry

What's the difference between these and the cotton pads? The bamboo minky pads are made of bamboo viscose or charcoal microfleece with a minky outer, being manmade materials, these tend to be a little warmer to wear than the cotton pads. The bamboo minky pads are also slightly thicker and therefore more absorbent than cotton pads, so if your periods are on the heavy side, we'd recommend the bamboo minky rather than the cotton.

Please note that this listing is for a SINGLE pad, multipacks are available separately.

Care Instructions:  Wash at 20c or 30c, warm washing sets blood stains and can damage your pads.  Line dry, reshape whilst damp.

Cheeky Mama Cloth Sanitary Pads are an eco-friendly, healthier, more cost effective alternative to disposable pads. For those new to cloth sanitary pads (csp) the concept can be a little “Ew!” but to be honest using cloth as opposed to disposables is more comfortable. Because they are so much more absorbent, moisture is drawn into the pad, leaving you feeling fresher for longer.

Disposables have to contain lots of nasty toxic chemicals, dioxins and gels to enable them to be absorbent, which can lead to sensitive skin, irritation and thrush. Bamboo however, has a natural antibacterial quality and because it allows your skin to breath, can potentially reduce the risk of yeast infections and discomfort.

Of course it goes without saying that cloth pads will cost a fraction of what you would be spending on disposables each month which just end up sitting in landfill!

Why not add some of our reusable intimate wipes to your order and / or a wetbag for carrying clean and dirty pads / wipes? You can also buy the pads in packs of 5 or 10 , alternatively take a look at our Cheeky Mama Sanitary Pad kits and SAVE money!

Chuck away your Tena lights!
Thursday, 1 November 2018  |

As someone who wears a "just in case" incontinence pad, I was getting really tired of buying pads, wearing them and putting them into landfill, especially when 99% of the time I hadn't needed to wear one anyway.
I bought some of these initially to wear around the house, at least I thought I will be reducing the amount I use. Now I wear them everywhere!

Very comfy and simple to use
Sunday, 3 June 2018  |

I got one of these liners to try as I was finding disposable liners next to useless in later pregnancy and didn't particularly want to move to thicker disposable pads everyday in the hot weather. These are great. Really comfortable (I find they feel a bit odd when I first put them on with just my knickers but as soon as I pull my leggings up I can't even notice I'm wearing it), stay in place fine as long as I reposition after pulling my knickers back up each time, much more absorbent than disposables, and they wash and tumble dry to look like new in with a normal load of laundry. I put it in the tumble dryer on full heat by accident and it came out fine so will be continuing to do that! I've already ordered another 5 plus 5 of the maternity/night pads for post partum as I love them! The patterns are also really pretty, I have grey trees but I've ordered mixed patterns in my next 5 so that I can see the others.

Lovely material, rather thick
Friday, 1 June 2018  |

These are beautiful products and the material is very soft but I feel it is too thick for a panty liner I'm generally looking for something more discreet - slimmer. Perhaps I should have gone for the cotton ones, don't know If they're different.
Love that it has more than one popped for different sizes.

Great product
Sunday, 13 May 2018  |

These pads are great for lighter days at the end of my period, they are more than absorbent enough, I've been using reusable pads for a couple of months and can't rate them high enough, wish I'd known about them years ago, so much more comfortable and no leaks, ever!

As with other Cheeky Wipes products I've bought, these are easy to use, value for money and does exactly what the description says.

So much more comfortable than disposable pads
Wednesday, 2 May 2018  |

These pads are fab, they are so comfortable against my skin, no stickiness like with disposable pads. They wash well, no stains, they are still soft and they dry so quickly. The designs are so cute too! They do move about a bit, but tight-fitting knickers help and if they move loads just turn them round and they're much better. Just a bit difficult to work out which is the best way for each pad when you first put it on.

Not a multi pack!
Friday, 23 March 2018  |

Must admit it was something of a shock to open the package to find I'd bought one pad and one panty liner! I feel a bit stupid now, but I was expecting 5. The product descriptions are plural and the images show 5 pads of each pattern. Although I should have realised it seemed a bit too bargainous, I suggest you make it clearer that these are sold singly.

Anyway, once I'd got over that shock I was pleased that the products are well made and very tactile. Can't wait to try them. If I like them there will probably be a repeat order, as one pad and one panty liner won't go far towards an 8-day period!

Uncomfortable and hot
Saturday, 24 February 2018  |

Unfortunately, the liners I bought do not sit still. They kept on moving around my pants, even though they are fastened as tightly as possible.
Also, when the day is warmer than frozen, my intimate areas get awfully warm -- which further irritates my skin.

Response:

Thanks Joanna, just a couple of ideas for you to stop the slipping - the underside fabric (the minky side) can be brushed in 2 different directions. If you are finding the pad slipping a little, try turning it 180 degrees so what was at the front is now at the back - this sounds odd but if the fabric is going in the other direction it grips better on your underwear and stays put! We also recommend wearing a tighter pant with a high percentage of lycra in, this also helps keep them in place.
With the warmth of the pads, I find this happens if I am wearing them during exercise but in daily use they feel comfortable and not overly warm.

Sturdy, great design

The boxes are well made and sturdy. Like the colour coding of the kits with the essential oils. Ordered the pink box as a variation for reusable sanitary products. Love the design feature of the hooks with the net so you donít need to get your hands in the soaking solution.

Great first impressions
Thursday, 1 November 2018  |  Victoria

I have wanted to try non disposables for a long time to cut the amount of throwaway plastic I am using. I have used these for the first time and am really pleasantly surprised...they are beautifully soft and they clean up really well with no staining so far (I purchased a mucky box to soak them in before washing) They do move about slightly but will try tighter fitting underwear as suggested in other reviews...no leakages so far as theyíre super absorbent. Will definitely try the thinner cotton ones for towards the end of my period.

I ordered three pairs and I'm going back for more...... I suffer with mehorragia and it usually looks like a horror movie even with two maternity pads but these little beauts kept everything in overnight no stress!
Definitely buying more.
My only criticisism is that they sit quite low..... I'd like them to come up slightly higher for all out Bridget Jones comfort!

I tried washable sanitary pads 15 years ago but found they just didnít keep me dry. These Cheekywipes pads are a whole different thing! I bought two to try and now Iíve ordered another ten; I wonít be going back to disposable pads. Theyíre comfortable, absorbent and donít slide around (as long as you follow the advice about the nap on the back). Highly recommended x

Loving it
Sunday, 7 October 2018  |  Penny

Iíve only had these wipes for a week but as a busy childminder they have impacted well in my setting. As you can imagine lots of runny noses and bum changes needed attending to and I love the feel and smell of these. Iíve also asked the children and they prefer them too. Much nicer than wet wipes. Iíve even used them to wipe down hard surfaces in the kitchen. Iíll definitely be carrying on.

I have tried cloth pads on and off over the years and never really took to them. I mostly use a cup but sometimes like the security of having a pad too. These are so comfortable and stay in place really well (but snug fitting pants are a must!). I think they are terrific value and my order came super fast.

Great product!

We have been pleasantly surprised by how easy the switch has been and like that you can still use them out and about with the travel bags. You do need to be pretty disciplined and organised with keeping supplies fresh and would definitely suggest a second pack of wipes so you have plenty for wash rotation. We wash them on a 60 degree wash so they are totally clean and have no issue then using bum wipes for hands and face. Although there is the option to have white ones for hands and face and colours for the bum, comes down to personal preference, but they genuinely clean and fresh. We really started looking at this option because my youngest has really sore nappy rash from every wipe brand we've tried leading to us spending a small fortune on sudocream and other such products. Since using cloth wipes its been a miracle for his bum as its no longer red and sore. I love how usually 1 wipe does the job whereas you need to use some 5-6 packet wipes and we were going through them pack after pack with 2 boys! So bottom line buy them we wouldn't go back now having changed across.

Never looked back!!
Friday, 31 August 2018  |  Becky

I bought these around 18 months ago and they still look like new. I originally ran on night pads and liners which was fine. These cope with 'flooding' amazingly well, I have never had a leak. They haven't stained and they are not gross at all. I was sceptical to read that period pain can be reduced by switching from disposables but its true. My flow is a little lighter and doesn't last as long. I just chuck them in with the washing or with the nappies. I now have a few day pads for the last day, purely because they looked pretty and I'm slightly addicted. They are so soft and don't move around in my underwear even thought they're a shiney material. I use the liners every day just chucking them in the normal wash and they are still like new. Granted they're slightly more grey than white on top but I can deal with that. These are by far some of the cheapest CSP out there. I have tried slightly cheaper but these are made so much better. The quality is untouchable.
